  1. Still not right... Docker and VM settings: Relevant shares are set up to use only the Apps pool: And the Apps and Cache pools: Apps pool device is empty?
  2. I am on 6.9-rc2, have not really thought of this (my first unraid setup) so thanks for the pointer! My Docker and VMs are mainly for development/testing so don't really need redundancy but I created the "Apps" pool with btrfs in case I change my mind later on.
  3. Hi all, I would like to run all Docker containers and VMs from a dedicated SSD, managed through unassigned devices. Device in question is formatted XFS and auto-mounted at boot: I've also modified the Docker and VM settings and pointed required locations to this dedicated SSD: I created those folders manually and configuration is saved without any errors. Where this gets confusing is that there are the default shares: appdata, domains, isos and system. What to do with these, given that I am pointing these to folders created in the dedicated SSD, should I just delete these shares? With the shares present, when I start the array these folders get created in the cache pool and the paths specified (pointing to the dedicated SSD) are seemingly ignored. Are there are any other config files I should be editing? Thanks.
  4. Apologies for posting on this thread that didn't see any updates in a while, just wondering if anyone managed to get 2.5G speeds on 8125 cards? I have RTL8125 both on my unraid tower and my desktop machine (Windows 10), connected together directly using a fairly chunky 1 meter long cat6 cable and no matter what I tweak (mtu settings, parallel threads etc) I can't get past 1.32Gbits/sec on iperf3: MTU is set to 9000 on both the server (unraid tower) and client (my desktop). Any idea what might be wrong? This is using Unraid Version: 6.9.0-rc2. Thanks. UPDATE: After updating the Windows driver for RTL8125 (using "Win10 Auto Installation Program (SId:1152921505692730722) / 10.045 / 2020/12/31" downloaded from here) AND explicitly setting the "Speed & Duplex" setting to "2.5Gbps Full Duplex" in device properties -> Advanced (updating the driver alone didn't do anything), I now get 2.5Gbps speeds on iperf: Don't forget to reboot Windows after changing that setting, I was getting a few hundred kbits until I rebooted which was puzzling... Hope this helps folks with the same setup as mine.
  5. This did the trick, thank you so much @Vr2Io :-) Used a bit of kapton tape over pins 5 and 6 and system boots, Unraid picks up the devices and I am looking forward to setting it all up!
  6. @whipdancer Sadly I don't get anything, let alone boot into Windows, with the card plugged in. All I get is fans running at max speed, nothing more.
  7. Hi folks, trying to turn an old computer into an Unraid box but failing so far... RAID Card: LSI SAS 9240-8i (FW:P20 9211-8I IT Mode) Computer: Intel DQ67OW, i7 2600K, 16GB RAM Really peculiar fault... When I install the RAID card and start up the computer, I can hear the fans turn on at max speed but nothing else happens. No beeps, no blinks, just fans at max speed and no display on the monitor. With the card removed, computer boots as expected. Gone through pretty much every single setting on the BIOS with no luck. I know that the PCI-E slot works because I had a GPU plugged in before I swapped it for the RAID Card (Only slot the RAID card will fit on this motherboard) and I know the integrated graphics work because I can boot into Windows without the RAID card plugged in. I actually bought two of these RAID cards (1 to use, 1 spare) and I see the same behaviour on both cards. Have not seen this before and a bit puzzled, eventually I would like to turn this old computer into an Unraid box (hence the replacement of the GPU with this RAID card) but I am a bit stumped. Any suggestions? Thanks!
