  1. It's one of those strange one for sure, no doubt someone will come up with an answer at some point.
  2. I've still to resolve the issue and I'm now reasonably sure it is the result of an update. The problem is only when downloading data and that seems to be working ok even though a speed test shows just 2 to 4 mbps. Files are still downloading ok and they dont seem to be taking to much more time.
  3. Who is your internet provider? = BT Are you using encrypted port? = No idea? Which usenet provider are you using? = NZB Hydra
  4. Hi Herbiewalker and thanks for responding. I use SABnzbd to download files. tower-diagnostics-20210111-0958.zip
  5. Hi guys to start I'm a bit of a novice but holding my own with a server setup with Plex My problem is when downloading movies and TV shows my bandwidth seems to disappear and a speed test suying internet speed has dropped from +40mbps to 2 or 3mbps. Has anyone else had this issue or got any ideas as to why this has started to happen please?
  6. Good point Constructor and thanks for the heads up re backing up.
  7. Hi Constructor yes you are right there should be a back-up plan, the thing is what's to lose, if your on about all the files well that would require a huge storage the OS however is on a firestick???? I've been back in today and found the path/downloads info was wrong and I've corrected that. There were other issues too like hydra had been disabled and that I've sorted. Then there was changes made to my own particular quality requirements, these were all changed by a chap who said he knew what he was doing. Anyway the good news is I'm up and running again and what's more I've been able to free up more space. I've also done some research about my set up and adding/replacing hard drives should not be too big an issue. So can I close by thanking you all for your help it has been a bit of a learning curve but one that is worth it.
  8. Hi Constructor yes you are right there should be a back-up plan, the thing is what's to lose, did I not read somewhere that the operation of this sort of set up can be run from a flash drive? Either way please let me know what I should do so I can get this sorted and most importantly get the downloads issue sorted so I can get my kids and grandkids off of my back because they dont have the latest TV thing they are watching.
  9. On the plus side I've spoken to three of my regular Plex share guys and it seems all outbound traffic is spot on.
  10. Right this is where I get a bit scared because I'm unsure what each thing means for example "appdata, domains, and system shares should have all their files on cache and these shares should be set to stay on cache" So can you simply guide me through the steps or is that likely to make things worse?
  11. It has worked fine for over a year / original set up I had a guy recently make some changes including updated apps and that's were these problems started. This chap is involved with making apps for this sort of set up. He did say however it was the first time he had worked with the Unraid OS
  12. I've also added an app as suggested on the FAQ section of the site to fix common issues. I've have now run it and below are screen shots of the outcome, should I make the recommended changes?
  13. Hi Guys Let me start by first thanking all of you offering help, I'm in my mid seventies and started to run a server set up about a year ago as a hobby to keep the old grey matter going. Some of you have already been a great help on here with regard a related issue. So my questions are............... I have a server set up with 17Tb of disc space in total this in now almost full and I now need to look at adding a second machine or look at options like renting space from a provider. While I'm a novice in this area of computing (I did not set up my machine and the guy who did is no longer able to help) I'm not completely useless and willing to learn and as such simply looking for advice on what to do. For example will an additional machine require its own OS or can it simply be connected to the one I have? Would setting it up, given my lack of knowledge be possible? Or would I be better off looking at using a cloud server to run my Plex set up? All and any advice will be much appreciated.
