  1. Hey fellas, I gave the new 6.7.0.rc-2 a shot yesterday and all went well until today when the gui stopped working. In fact I was moving some files back and fro through rsync and that's when it died. i managed to go back to 6.6.6 using the unraid gui but all I get in the browser now is: A simple html+cgi example Enter first number Enter second number wtf. lol Ideas? Cheers
  2. lol you said exactly what I was thinking of. is there an option to find out if and when the realtek updates will make it into the new upgrade?
  3. Thanks for your detailed response. I think my issues started after upgrading to 6.6 I think or 6.5. or might be just pure chance and has nothing to do with the upgrade. Anyway, the mobo is quite old but served me well until now. I guess my only options would be: 1) wait for update, 2) buy a nic 3) downgrade Thank you very much for the info
  4. hey fellas, Lately I am experiencing some drops in network connection and I cannot seem to figure out why is this happening. I changed the switch and the cables but it still happens. Weird enough the server is still up and running, I can still log on and do stuff but I lose connection to my shares and also the web interface stops running (obviously). At some point I thought might be some buffer overflow issues, because I was moving some files from and on various windows machines, but I cannot be sure. i am uploading my diagnostics data maybe someone can figure it out and give me a hand with this because it is out of my level of expertise. thanks in advance box-diagnostics-20181019-1348.zip
  5. Oh man, thanks a lot! I didn't even see the new version until you told me about it. It works now, even the stupid wdtv is up and running again. I was panicking for a sec Cheers
  6. Hi guys, I am using the KDLINKS hd700 to stream movies and music from my unraid server. I just updated from 6.2.4 to 6.3.0 and I cannot log on from the media player on any shares from my server. I checked permissions and whatnot but I cannot fix it though I can logon from windows just fine. Any idea what changed in the new version? I don't really want to go back to 6.2.4 but if I cannot fix it I might just do that. Please advise Remo
  7. I only shutdown or reboot through the main web interface I would say gracefully unless there is something wrong with the shutdown/reboot thing and the drive is not written properly but I am only guessing at this point. Well I can definitely recreate my drive and copy config files over but what would that accomplish if there is something wrong in config ? thanks for your ideas
  8. Well I would definitely test with my other drive, I just thought maybe there's a known issue or something similar that might help me fix it without asking Tom for another key. As for plugins, I only run the UPS plugin, apcupsd something and nothing more. I got my syslog loaded if it helps... thanks syslog-20121028-085242.zip
  9. Yes I have a Pro license for 2 USB so I guess I can try the second flashdrive and see if it is just an intermitent drive issue, that would be weird. To answer your second and third question I created my UNRAID falshdrive on a windows machine and whenever I fix the flashdrive I use 'automatically fix file system errors' under properties/tools for that particular drive, sometimes I even scan for bad sectors but most of the time i just check the fix system errors bit and after that I am able again to boot from flashdrive. Confusing I know but this is what happens almost everytime I shutdown or reboot my server. thanks
  10. By all means, I am running unRAID Server version 5.0-rc8a AiO first time install, on a ASRock B75 PRO3-M Motherboard with a Celeron CPU. Now all I read about this issue is either not similar with mine or those posts end without a clear solution, peeps don't actually say if they fix it or not and how. Of course there is also the possibility that I might have missed the right post but I thought that was the purpose of a forum, to ask questions yes? thanks for help
  11. So I guess nobody had any issues with this before, or everybody know a fix that i could not find in the forum. Come on guys, help please.
  12. Hey guys, I keep getting this error everytime I reboot or after a shutdown. So far the only fix i found is to plug the USB into a windows machine and do a system fix and whatnot but it is getting annoying, if you know what I mean. Windows cannot find anything wrong with my drive though after scan unraid boots up normally. Is there something that I can do to permanently fix this issue? thanks
  13. I had the same problem but for me was just what Joe said, the damn BIOS changed the boot sequence. Thanks Joe, a real HERO
  14. It was easier than expected actually. You just need to use 'No Access' for whatever share you don't want your user to access and it will not show up when browsing the network. Initially I thought if you deny access the share will still show up in the list but you won't be able to browse it's contents due to lack of permissions; fortunately if you are denied access to a share you won't be able to see it either, though I was able to make it work using smb_extra.conf as well... lol That's about it, too bad I had to hit my had to the wall for a couple of hours... I know slow! cheers
  15. Thanks kizer for your reply, I already read that post you sent me but it's either my lack of understanding or whatever is there does not apply to me because I cannot seem to find a solution to my problem. It seems you can only hide/show shares globally not per user. For example, let's say I have 5 shares and 3 users from which 1 I only want to be able to access/ 'see' 1 share and the other 2 users I want them to be able to browse everything. The thing is I don't want them to be able to see the shares that they cannot access. In know there is an option browseable that you can use in smb_extra but how and where to put it I cannot seem to find in forum. Anyway, if this is not possible I would settle to be able to give access to a certain folder within a share and hide everything else. Any thoughts or I should just give up?
  16. Hi guys, I am running unRAID OS 5.0-rc8a without any kind of issues so far, kudos to all developers involved. Anyway, I would like to get a bit more control over the shares, for example I would like to show only those shares that a particular user/wife can access because they can get pretty annoying when they click on a 'folder' and they get access denied message. lol Nothing to hide here though but women and kids have a weird habit of messing with stuff. Now I understand that is possible by using smb_extra.conf or something like this but I can't seem to find an example or info about how you go about it. If anybody can give me a hand I would really appreciate it. thanks a lot
  17. I would like an answer to this question as well. Looks like no matter how I enable user security, every other user on the network is able to see my shares without being prompted to login. On the other hand I just found out this little note: Note: User level security is only available on UnRAID Pro and Plus in the configuration tutorial and I was just wondering if this is actually the issue. If yes, then it means there is no way I can actually test Users and Share Security properly, yes? thanks for help
