  1. I don't have to go with a rackmount option. I just figured that'd be a good option to keep things nice and clean. Plus I have a buddy who is willing to hook me up with a cabinet.
  2. I am running out of space in my current configuration. I have 7 drives currently installed and thats the limit of my case, I have another 6 hard drives that I am trying to get installed but in order to do so I am going to need a case that can fit at least 15 (a little room for growth) but I am trying to figure out if I should go ahead and get something like the Rosewill RSV-L4500 or go all out and get the NORCO RPC-4224 that so many others here have (seemingly). My holdup is that the NORCO RPC-4224 is 3 times the price. But from what I am seeing people taking full size ATX cases and installing multiple backplanes are spending just as much. If people have a configuration out there they'd like to suggest I am all ears! I don't intend on needing to get in and out of my cases often so I can live without hot swap. But again, please tell me if I am crazy on that one. Additionally, I am only using a PCI SATA controller with 4 ports and my mobo has 5 itself so I intend on needing to purchase 2xAOC-SASLP-MV8 (which cables should I get?) my PSU should be able to handle up to 15 drives according to this Power Supply Calc. Thanks in advance for all the help!
  3. Thanks guys! Found the culprit, the switch. My configuration was Router + Switch now its just Router. But now I am thinking about getting a new switch and putting everything on it. What do people thing of TRENDnet TEG-S80G because currently the only thing in my media cabinet wired is my ATV (directly to router, in order to bypass crapped out switch). But I like having everything wired (within reason of course, no need to do that with laptops).
  4. UPDATE: Believe I have: Intel® 82566DC Gigabit Ethernet Controller Original Message Attempting to figure out which make it is from the Motherboard spec but for now here is what I have: *-core description: Motherboard product: DP35DP vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 0 version: AAD81073-209 serial: USDP825002LZ slot: Base Board Chassis Location *-network description: Ethernet interface physical id: 19 bus info: pci@0000:00:19.0 logical name: eth0 version: 02 serial: 00:1c:c0:60:92:e2 size: 1GB/s capacity: 1GB/s width: 32 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm msi bus_master cap_list ethernet physical tp 10bt 10bt-fd 100bt 100bt-fd 1000bt-fd autonegotiation configuration: autonegotiation=on broadcast=yes driver=e1000e driverversion=1.9.5-k duplex=full firmware=1.3-0 ip=192.168.23.134 latency=0 link=yes module=e1000e multicast=yes port=twisted pair speed=1GB/s
  5. That does seem odd, would that have to do with my router or my NIC? I am using onboard NIC.
  6. All of this was captured while attempting to stream 720p content and experiencing buffering.
  7. I ended up deleting the contents on my cache drive per a comment I saw on another thread and starting over. This seemed to solve my problem but doesn't solve for why this started. If it happens again I'll post my log. Thanks!
  8. Per your comment in another thread the CPU matters. That is why I called it out. Per other comments (not by you) adding the cache drive is what solved buffering issues for them. I am confident that my network configuration is not the issue as I am using wired gigabit router with cat6 cables. I am willing to do additional testing/provide more detail if you believe it to be necessary. I've disabled all plugins and am using the default go file to make sure nothing additional is going on. What additional information can I share in order to provide you with adequate details to assist? Thanks!
  9. I am constantly experiencing buffering when attempting to play videos from my unRAID server. The server has a 3.0 Ghz quad core and 8GB of RAM which I thought would be plenty being that my old setup was a single core with 2GB of ram and JBOD and that streamed content just fine. Yes, I _am_ using a cache drive.
  10. I am having the same issue, I ran getfattr -d /mnt/user0/* and nothing returned
  11. Here is another open thread about this: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=23846.msg210467#msg210467
  12. That's a negative Ghost rider rsync: get_xattr_data: lgetxattr("Torrents","user.org.netatalk.supports-eas.FGYeNy",0) failed: Exec format error ( unRAID Server Pro version: 5.0-rc12a Updated syslog attached syslog.txt
  13. The release notes for: Changes from 5.0-rc11 to 5.0-rc12 include shfs: return correct extended attribute value length should this fix my issue?
  14. Cross posting from http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=23255.msg232991#msg232991 because my issue is on 5.0-rc11 Attached syslog here as well, I've set the plugins and go file per suggestion on other threads (one of the mods signature). Here is what I keep seeing when I run the mover: rsync error: some files/attrs were not transferred (see previous errors) (code 23) at main.c(1042) [sender=3.0.7] UPDATED: I had to delete the contents of my Cache drive and start fresh for this to start working. syslog.txt
  15. fliptoback can you please update the topic of the original post to [sovled] and change the Message Icon for the original message to 'Defect [solved]'?
  16. I am using 5.0-rc11 and I am having the same issue. Updated with latest syslog that has the plugins disabled and reset go file. syslog.txt
  17. I think it may be something inside of the simplefeatures plugin. I am actually thinking of dropping that all together. While I like the look there is nothing that I am really using inside of there that I need.
  18. free -l total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 2074436 2020456 53980 0 48992 1784796 Low: 890748 838504 52244 High: 1183688 1181952 1736 -/+ buffers/cache: 186668 1887768 Swap: 0 0 0 I pasted the log (using SimpleFeatures plugin and the Log from the main menu) to http://pastebin.com/KRRmqvvG Seems I may have an issue in cron that needs to be cleaned up. Any suggestions there? I'm rather confident that my CPU can handle the streaming as I was previously using this box as a JBOD setup and had no issues. lshw -class cpu *-cpu:0 description: CPU product: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+ vendor: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] physical id: 3 bus info: cpu@0 version: 15.15.0 slot: Socket 939 size: 1GHz capacity: 3GHz width: 64 bits clock: 201MHz capabilities: boot fpu fpu_exception wp vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 syscall nx mmxext fxsr_opt x86-64 3dnowext 3dnow up lahf_lm cpufreq
  19. When I am hashing files the system seems to lag. I am watching top my CPU stays around 50% but the free RAM is basically none. Is this what is causing my system to lag and cause videos to need to buffer? I am using a cached drive but I am doing quite a bit on this box (rtorrent, sickbeard, etc) and currently I am only using 2GB RAM. I figure this to be my issue but I wanted to be sure before I start shopping.
  20. People don't regularly update their topics when answered. Can we please get some more people that go through and update topics with the 'Solved' icon if they have been accepted. I know that the SO model is to have user accepted answers but I don't think thats perfect for here. I believe it would be helpful to have a handful of people that can go through and at least update the Message Icon. Obviously the OP would be able to change it back if their question got improperly marked as Solved when it wasn't. Admittedly I am not that active on the forums but I would be willing to do my part if requested.
  21. I keep having to install vim after I reboot my box. I am installing vim via the following: wget http://mirrors.slackware.com/slackware/slackware-current/slackware/l/glibc-2.15-i486-7.txz wget http://mirrors.slackware.com/slackware/slackware-current/slackware/d/python-2.7.3-i486-2.txz wget http://mirrors.slackware.com/slackware/slackware-current/slackware/d/perl-5.16.1-i486-1.txz wget http://mirrors.slackware.com/slackware/slackware-current/slackware/ap/vim-7.3.645-i486-1.txz installpkg *.txz What am I doing wrong? The same thing is happening for the 'clear' command. I am adding the clear command to my .bash_profile but it keeps getting dropped. echo "alias clear=\"echo -e '\0033\0143'\"" >> /root/.bash_profile source /root/.bash_profile I have to set this after each reboot. * Please forgive me if this topic has already been started. I attempted to search but that returned a bunch of seemingly unrelated topics.
  22. I just setup my unRAID box and am attempting to start copying files over from my old computer that was I was JBOD for storage. Both boxes are on the same switched (GigE) using wired connection. The old box is a debian box. What I've done is mounted the one of the shares from the debian box to the unRIAD box and I am using `rsync --progress /debianshare/*/mnt/user/Storage/` -- rsync shows a transfer rate of 1-2MB/s -- what can I do to get these speeds up? Transferring about 5TB of data at 1MBs would take a painful amount of time.
