Hello,
I'm using rsync for syncing my Unraid Files to external hdds as an backup. While syncing, I realized that all files are copied to the backup disk, not only the changed ones as usual.
I compared several files which are not copied yet. The timestamp differs exactly by one hour (Unraid timestamp is one hour ahead). Last Weekend was DST change in Germany, we're runnung now +1 hour, which is exactly the time difference on Unraid.
My last backup before DST Change was working fine.
Example:
Unraid: Dienstag, 23. Januar 2007 20:05:41 CET
Backup Disks: Dienstag, 23. Januar 2007 19:05:41 CET
File Size are identical, File was not changed (Picture)
Environment:
I'm using Unraid 6.9.2
Unraid Date & Time Settings: Correct Timezone (Berlin), NTP activated (0.pool.ntp.org to 3.pool.ntp.org)
Unraid File System
Array: xfs
Cache: btrfs
Files with timestamp problem are all stored on array (xfs)
Backup hdds are Verycrypt encrypted (Volume, not container)
My computer where rsync is running is Linux Mint 20.3
Tests:
Compared time and date on Unraid and Mint via shell with "date" ==> both are identical (e.g Mint: "Mi 30. Mรคr 11:51:39 CEST 2022" - Unraid: "Wed Mar 30 11:52:17 CEST 2022")
I've have three backup disk, timestamp of compared files are identical on all of them (only Unraid differs)
compared timestamp of backup disks on Windows Host via Veracrypt Portable ==> same date as on Linux Mint
copying of new files ==> timestamp on Unraid and Mint are identical
reboot Unraid ==> timestamp still one hour ahead
I could copy all files again, but probably around October on next DST change I'm having the same issue again. So, I'm hoping that someone has an idea how to solve this... ๐
Best regards
Stefan
