  1. Hey man, just wanted to let you know I didn't have a chance to test this out today. I have planned to play some Astroneer tomorrow so I'll let you know how it goes with the VM, fingers crossed that I don't see any crashes. Just to you are aware of my hardware upfront: i5 10400 (8 logical processors pinned to VM) RTX 2070S (passthrough to VM) 48 GB Memory (16 GB alloted to VM)
  2. I haven't done anything GPU intensive yet. I've been working on getting Nginx Proxy Server working with SSL certificates (-_-) this morning. But I'll install Steam and try running a few games tonight and report back. But right off the bat the VM has been working great.
  3. That's a good point, I just assumed that a direct install would give it the best performance. But if it's already a vdisk image on an SSD, I'd imagine I'm not losing too much performance.
  4. Hello all, I'm at my wits end with what to do to solve this issue. I recently changed from a Ryzen 3600x to an Intel i5 10400 for stability and for integrated graphics and well the swap over hasn't been great. I have a M.2 SSD that I would like to passthrough with my GPU (Nvidia RTX 2070s) to a VM. Each time I try to pass it through, I either have some success or none. The times I am able to actually boot to Windows, it freezes within 5 seconds each time with no info populating in the log. Most times I get stuck on the Tiano-Core splashscreen. I've tried disabling UEFI on the Flash for Unraid but then the USB that has Unraid just won't boot in BIOS. I've also tried using X440 and Q35 VM's and same issue with both machine versions. My GPU vBIOS is from a dump script I ran back when I first started with Unraid about a month ago (with Ryzen processor) What's so odd to me is that if I create a VM with a primary disk and install Windows 10 through VNC followed by passing my GPU through....that VM works wonderfully. But I would like to try to use this additional M.2 and save my primary cache drive for other things rather then the VM itself.   6. @ghost82 Interesting...I did that on my last VM but through the GeForce Control Panel and it didn't work. I just manually downloaded the latest drivers from the Nvidia site and that worked perfect, it even persisted through a server reboot! This is great! Thank you so much for your help!
  7. Adding the video=enfifb:off eliminated the "failed: Device or resource busy" errors in the log and I am no longer seeing any "failed to mmap" errors that refer to the GPU vbios. The only remaining issue seems to be the resolution is still locked in at 800x600 with a Code 43 error in devmgmt.msc. From what I've read, this seems to be an issue with Nvidia allowing the card to be used in a VM.
  8. @ghost82 I modified the XML to enable multifunction and also modified the next hostdev block per what you copied above, no dice. I ended up having to delete the VM and recreate it as it froze up a few times which required a hard reset. Same issue with the newly created VM.   9. I've been bit by the Unraid bug thanks to a friend and we have spent the past 3 days trying to solve this issue to no avail. I currently have a SFFPC built that has 3 drives with one of those housing my Windows10 OS. I wanted to avoid reinstalling Windows if possible and would rather keep the current image. I'm going to post pretty much anything I can think would be helpful to know regarding my current setup. I'd really appreciate any help as I would love to get UnRaid working. One thing I do want to know is that I've tried my VM on both the X4 machine and Q35 but I tend to have better results on the X4 machine. As long as I don't change any settings from the initial config further below, I can reboot the VM itself without issue. If I reboot my server, it defauls back to the 800x600 resolution.
