  1. GOOD NEWS EVERYBODY! Tom has fixed the bug! He updated bzimage and bzroot to include support for these newer ASUS boards and now the correct GUID is made that matches my purchased key opening the door for all my 20 2TB drives. Thank you Tom, you rock! -FibreChannel76
  2. Purko, In the corporate world that I work in, we use them everyday between developers of different companies entrusted with source code and they are very much enforceable. In the case of the key, it would have my name embedded with it. Anyways I’m also not holding my breath on getting one; I just pointed it out a viable solution to the problem before moving on to something else that works. Considering what little help you’ve contributed to this thread (kidding around about discontinued GUID support), Id just prefer you not participate in this thread. Thanks.
  3. Hi PCRx, The issue hasn’t been resolved yet. My last contact was with Tom two weeks ago. We exchanged a dozen emails from 8:00 pm to 2:00 am. He had me type in a sequence of Linux commands and I sent him the output. He discovered that I’m missing some files that are necessary to generate the flash GUID. I email him a week ago but have yet to get a response. It could be that he needs recompile the Linux kernel to add support or it could be a much larger problem with the licensing mechanism on newer MB. I don't know. I understand that these kinds of things take time to solve…up to a point. I need to get this working with the hardware I’ve invested in. If that means Tom can update unRAID in a few more weeks; great. Another solution could be if Lime-Tech would issue me the encrypted key file that uses the all zero GUID and has me sign some type of non-discloser agreement stating that I will never release it into the “wild” with civil and criminal penalties if I do, I’ll happily sign it, but that’s up to lime-tech. I just want to get unRAID working.. If all else fails, I’ll just mail lime-tech back the 2 USB flash drives + license for a $168 refund. Then it’s off to play with FreeNas (something I’d rather not do, but what else can I do). I just can’t keep looking at 40TB that’s powered off much longer. -FibreChannel76
  4. Hey Hogwind, I rebooted 10 times (2) on MoBo and ( 8 ) on the rear. No dice. Not sure if your MoBo is an ASUS P7P55 WS but I'm working with Tom to resolution (I hope). Thanks.
  5. Yep. Under USB configuration: USB Functions: [enabled] Legacy USB Support [enabled] BIOS EHCI Hand-Off [enabled] I tried all 8 combos of disabled and enabled. Some had the effect of preventing unRAID from booting, but didn’t solve the core issue. I’ll try emailing Tom my syslog. I suspect the Linux kernel don’t support something on my MoBo. Maybe they could add it? Or perhaps giving me a key w/ with what my systems "thinks" is the key.
  6. Running the newest BIOS. It must be a MoBo issue. Bummer.
  7. I appreciate your help guys. I Tested the Flash drives on a different MoBo and the correct GUID populates. Unfortunately that board doesn’t have 4 PCI-e slots to support my 20 drives.. It seems like it’s a licensing problem. The board I want use boots..and the 3 drives work fine. It just would be nice to get it out of Basic mode and into Pro licensing mode..
  8. Hi Joe L, I’ve tried both USB ports directly on the MoBo and one directly to the back. Also tried both preconfigured flash drives (got the two pack) plus two more I had. All give the same GUID. It’s a big rig w/ (4) 3x5 raid cages for (20) 2TB drives, so trying another MoBo is out because I need (4) PCI-e 16x slots for the SATA cards. Not dealing with drives yet, I just need to get beyond the basic version (3) drive limit to paid for Pro working..Thanks.
  9. I’m having trouble with unRAID not being able to properly generate the flash GUID. I purchased two preconfigured 2GB Lexar brand Flash drives containing unRAID Server OS Pro registration. I’ve also tried the free basic 4.5.1 with a 1GB kingston Data Traveler and a 4GB Sony Micro Vault. The MoBo is an ASUS P7P55 WS. In the Devices tab- they all show: Flash Vendor: Flash Product: Flash GUID: 8087-0020-0000-000000000000 Registered GUID: 05DC-A761-DOCO-(MYTWELVEDIGCODE) Wrong Registered to: (MyName) This of course limits it me to the basic version, yet paid for Pro. I’ve tried various BIOS settings, disabling the second NIC, the drive is the only USB device, all to no avail. Anybody else run into this issue? Thanks.
