I have a different pc that i need to modify the bios on and would like to run its bios rom in a VM to test changes to before flashing the other pc. Is that something that i can do? I search and only find posts about the GPU roms. I would like to use the full flash of the other pc bios/uefi. Any ideas on this?

I have a friend who has asked me to help him build a new server. He'll mainly use it for plex, backup for pics and docs and wants it to be rack mount, with hotswap slots. His budget will be some where around 3k. Can you guys suggest a great build that would be within that price range? TIA!

bump Id really like to know this as well. My setup isnt nearly as complicated as yours yet but would like to encrypt a cloud backup to dropbox, gdrive, etc. There are some pretty outdated videos by spaceinvader ( who has been insanely valuable as help and guides to set it up) on youtube but would like to know the best way to do this too in 2022.

I recently setup my first unraid server. I have plex setup and was using the unassigned devices plug in to map the plex app data to. But after an update that immediately stopped working today. I stopped the array and added the SSD to a "pool" by itself. Then pointed to that, I think. The app data is showing in the shares but i am not at all sure i set this up correctly. What would be the best way to set this up? Ultimately i just want to have a dedicated SSD for just plex app data for good performance. Any suggestions on how to do this the best way? Thanks

Hi everybody. Newbie here to Unraid and setup my first server in the last couple months. I have a couple issues that i need to ask for help with. 1. Whenever i boot/restart my server, it wont load from the usb boot stick. It just shows a black screen. If i unplug the usb boot stick, let the MB UEFI load, plug the usb boot stick back in, restart without making any changes in UEFI, it will boot to the Unraid boot options screen. I thought i found a solution to this on reddit but cannot find the dang post again. 2. My log will reach 100% after a couple days of uptime. When looking at the log it seems to be doing something over and over again til it fills up. Ill post a small section of it here and can post the whole log if needed.
