I'm looking to build a new server this spring and could use some wisdom. My looking to host about 3 game servers (dockers and VM Windows), a Plex server with very few transcoding, mostly direct play or direct stream of 4k and 1080P content and lastly a NAS server. My biggest hang up is figuring out what size of CPU I need to handle 5 to 8 users on game servers and possibly 3 Plex users - I assuming more cores will be better to help with the loads? There is a budget but I'm not one to stick to it knowing that it's for the right reasons and that it will last longer. I appreciate all comments. Thank you!
