Hello,
I have a hopefully simple question.
How do I set Plex to use the plexpass version (1.28.2.6106-44a5bbd28) instead of the public version (1.28.1.6104-788f82488)? I have the PLEX_CLAIM parameter set to my plex claim (claim-y4Z_--------------SN) and the version set to latest (I also tried beta and plexpass but nothing seemed to change).
Plex will show the encoding with an (HW), but nothing will actually play so I am guessing that I need the updated version.
Thanks in advance!
change in the Plex server settings the server type updates to beta and also change the "VERSION" variable in the container settings from docker to latest.

but HDR tone mapping is still not working with the new Plex version and new kernel?

Interesting. When I did that, mine said that it had to updated manually.
you have to change the Parameter "VERSION" in the CONTAINER Settings from docker to latest then it will update automatically at restart

ah ok,

thx

as far as I know is the latest Plex docker container from linuxserver on 1.28.0 and not 1.28.1

does anybody know if there is a possibility to update Plex manually in the linuxserver container?

My Spanish (that's a guess?) is terrible, but yes - those version numbers are correct.

Obviously it's only desired if clients cannot use it. But note that it doesn't disable HDR system wide: direct played or streamed media keeps its HDR. Tone mapping only happens on transcoded media.
If you need to transcode and do not have an HDR capable device and no tone mapping, the end result looks *very* bad. But if you DO have tone mapping, it just looks like any other non HDR content (fine, if not ideal). You've already chosen to accept a decrease in visual fidelity for some reason (probably bandwidth or data caps) so just getting non-HDR isn't going to be a big deal.
I know that direct played content still keeps HDR, but all transcoded content will be tone mapped to SDR. Without HDR tone mapping an HDR capable client would still keep HDR even if it needs transcoded content due to insufficient internet bandwith
-
HDR tone mapping makes only sense if the most of your clients are not HDR capable and for the HDR capable clients it is even a bad thing because they loose the HDR feature

Yay, I can also confirm that RC3 + Plexpass beta is working with the iGPU!!!
then question is how long
-
I thought it is already known for long that the current Plex containers are using a broken intel compute runtime (that's why they removed the automatic update of the runtime for the new Plex pass version)
https://forums.plex.tv/t/4k-hdr-hardware-transcode/765846/36
You can try the new kernel with this Plex container lsiodev/plex:amd64-1.25.2.5319-c43dc0277-pkg-c2e7263a-dev-2f08980441f26b55db4d95db8ee42c958882cc36 which is using an older compute runtime which is not broken

after updating the kernel to 5.18rc7 I am not able anymore to install the Nvidia drivers plugin

@titust1I have a i5-12600K and at present I have not been successfully able to passthru iGPU and get an output. Alderlake hardware is relatively new!
There is meant to be more support for Alderlake in the 5.16 kernel but no timeline I know of for this to be introduced.
Current MSI Bios
Version
7D25vA22(Beta version)
I am currently running an internal release of 6.10rc3(5.15.16) and can confirm the 2.5G Nic now works, Doesn't under rc2(5.14.15).
is. there still no way to passthrough gpu?
I couldn't get to work passthrough for my 12900k gpu

does the plugin still not support more than one cache drive?

https://geizhals.de/broadcom-sas-9300-8i-lsi00344-a976112.html?t=v&hloc=de&va=b
https://www.ebay.de/itm/163270395594?epid=22020434148&hash=item2603ac86ca:g:MuMAAOSwUmtbI5AA
https://www.ebay.de/itm/163277905170?epid=11011484758&hash=item26041f1d12:g:EYsAAOSwNgpezQFk

Kann jemand was empfehlen?

Muss dann Unraid natürlich headless laufen lassen
-
