you have to change the Parameter "VERSION" in the CONTAINER Settings from docker to latest then it will update automatically at restart

I know that direct played content still keeps HDR, but all transcoded content will be tone mapped to SDR. Without HDR tone mapping an HDR capable client would still keep HDR even if it needs transcoded content due to insufficient internet bandwith

HDR tone mapping makes only sense if the most of your clients are not HDR capable and for the HDR capable clients it is even a bad thing because they loose the HDR feature

after updating the kernel to 5.18rc7 I am not able anymore to install the Nvidia drivers plugin

guys how can I update my Unraid to kernel 5.18 ?? My Unraid server with a 12900K is crashing every few days with a kernel panic even when I am not using the iGPU for Plex. I am currently using an 1080ti for Plex transcoding. I currently dop not know what is causing this kernel panics ...

i configured the plugin as follows but it does not start the mover automatically even though the cache is filled more than 65%. What do I miss here?

it already worked with RC2 (except HDR tone mapping in hardware), the problem was a broken intel compute runtime which caused the system freezes. Downgrading to an older compute runtime helped. With RC3 all the Plex containers are working with hw de- and encoding (except HDR tone mapping) without freezing anymore.

Es werden zu Anfang nur 4x 18TB Platten sein, aber sobald die voll sind kommen meine alten WD RED rein also mindestens 2x 6TB zusätzlich und wenn der Platz dann wieder eng wird muss ich halt wieder neue Platten dazu kaufen. Sprich es können in wenigen Jahren durchaus mehr als 8 Platten werden, würde aber trotzdem erstmal mit einem normalen SATA Controller anfangen

habe jetzt etwas gegoogelt und viele raten von den PCIe 3.0 x1 4 SATA Controllern ab, es gäbe damit nur Probleme. Danke erstmal für da super Feedback! Die PCIe 4.0 und 5.0 Ports sollten doch abwärtskompatibel sein oder? Oder habe ich irgendwas übersehen? Der Link war wohl wirklich blöd gewählt, wollte es aber eh in DE bestellen und es muss auch nicht neu sein. Da ich in den nächsten Jahren nicht vorhabe SATA SSDs zu verwenden und wenn dann eher die m2 cache SSDS vergrößern würde, macht wohl der PCIe 3.0 x1 SATA Controller wohl am meisten Sinn, da das Board ja schon von Haus aus 4 SATA Ports hat und der Controller dazu noch deutlich energiesparender wäre. Wollte möglichst flexibel für die Zukunft sein und habe dabei das Thema Energieeffizienz und Preis ganz aus den äugen verloren.

Habe gerade noch einen neuen 12900K für 540€ geschossen, sprich es wird ein 12900K Welchen SAS Host Bus Adapter könnt ihr empfehlen? Sollten mindestens 8 extra SATA Anschlüsse bei rumkommen

hätte zur Überbrückung noch eine 1080ti, aber laut Plex Forum haben es wohl einige so laufen, also Unraid und Ubuntu vm. Muss dann Unraid natürlich headless laufen lassen
