    I ended up stopping the script.  I will also try and use the Joe L script.  It there any way to use the modified script to work with GUI or does it need to be run manually through ssh and screen?   I tried to copy the sh file to the preclear.disk folder but it doesn't show up in tools.  Any help would be appreciated.  thanks

    The OP describes how to use whichever script you prefer in the plugin.

    It's the first Q&A question

    One thing to note is that you must make the change noted here to the Joe L preclear script for it to run on 6.2+

    Run that very last bold command in a telnet session while in the same directory as the Joe L preclear script.

    Currently clearing a 8TB Red.  Everything was fine until the Post-Read phase which seems to have locked up and not updated the percent or time elapsed.  It should have finished the script at this point.   I did notice the reads on the drive seem to be going up from the main page.     Should I cancel the script or let it run a little longer?

    I'm attempting to preclear a couple 2tb drives and am seeing the same type of behavior.  First both drives made it to the post read. On the preclear screen one drive was frozen at 26% and the other at 76%.  Neither the percent nor the time was advancing any more.  When I checked the Main > unassigned drives I could see that both drives were still reading.  The both eventually finished but even then preclear showed them frozen.  I'm not sure if it really completed or not.

    On a second attempt at clearing the disks one disk appeared to freeze in preclear during the preread.  The other disk was looked fine and was well into the zeroing cycle.  I checked the main > unassigned drives screen and the disk that preclear showed as frozen was not reading or writing.  It's just a wild guess but i suspect when preclear freezes the current task finishes but any additional tasks never start.

    I'm not sure what to make of this. I stopped this preclear and am now trying it with  the joe l script instead.

  3. Hi gang, hope i'm not being a pest in this thread (although i think i'm the only one reading it anyway!)

    i've got yamj to appear on my pch, but playing movies always fails.  i believe this typically indicates a library path problem, but you unraid experts might have other suggestions!?!  Note, i posted this also on the yamj forums but they may feel its a unraid situation, not a yamj situation!

    any ways any and all help is much appreciated!  i will definitely post the resolution in the interests of helping others!

    Hello community!

    I’m a pretty long time yamj user… maybe 4 or 5 years!  I recently built an unraid server and moved all my media over to it.  I have yamj setup (with nmtserver) on my pc, to serve media from the server, over to my pch.  My pc is currently the middle man.

    I want to remove the middle man!  I have installed yamj right on the linux-based unraid server as per instructions in this thread on the unraid boards…

    http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=6557.0

    I believe everything installed correctly as I can see yamj on my pch, however whenever I choose to watch a file, yamj thinks for a few seconds, then just returns to the menu.  I recognize this as probably a library problem?  Here is my library.xml file.  I have all my media on a multi drive spanning share on the the unraid server called ‘Media’.  The server name is Tower.  Yamj is installed within this share, and so is the jukebox.

    <libraries>

      <library>

        <path>/mnt/user/Media</path>

        <playerpath>file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/TOWER:Media</playerpath>

        <exclude name="YAMJ/, Jukebox/, YAMJ Backup/"/>

        <description></description>

        <prebuf></prebuf>

        <scrapeLibrary>true</scrapeLibrary>

      </library>

    </libraries>

    Does anyone have any advice on how I can trouble shoot?  I’ve tried rebuilding the jukebox a few different ways, ie eliminating ‘tower’ and just having ‘Media’…I’m happy to try rebuilding it another way if there’s any other suggestions?!?

    Any and all advice is appreciated!!!

    I seem to remember having a similar issue which in the end turned out to be a case sensitivity issue.

  4. Ah, foolish me!  All resolved now using the instructions here:

    http://www.dentedboxes.com/doku.php/yamj:install

    Thanks all!

    mind if i ask what type of pch you're running?  i have a a-200 (technically an HDX-1000) but i think its the same platform as a-200....i'd love to get yamj running on my unraid.. currently using nmtserver on my main pc, serving media off my unraid onto my pch... works very well but i'd love to cut the pc out of the equation!

    i was wondering if popbox and eversion run on the a-200?  any idea?

    Not sure about the popbox but Eversion definitely runs on the a-200.

  5. I currently have an array with 16 7K2000 drives.  These are 7,200RPM drives but Hitachi shows the power at 2.0 and not three like has been suggested here for faster drives (should I believe Hitachi?).  I'm getting close to needing more space so I'm looking to replace the Antec case/PSU with a Norco 4224 and have every intent to max it out with 24 drives as soon as unraid supports that many.  I'm waiting for the next great sale on the 5K3000 drives and am trying to figure out the power requirements for the 4224 loaded with all these drives.  I'm leaning towards the CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139006).  With a single 60A rail it seems that this should do just fine, no?

    Also could someone please clue me in on the difference between their normal PSU and the enthusiast line such as this:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139021  It looks like it's justa $5 difference but I'd like to understand what the $5 gets you.

  6. Not sure what to make of this:

  8. Another question I'm having trouble finding the answer to.  I'm about 10% of the way through ripping my 1800 DVD's.  Each one is saved in it's own folder using the DVD structure (video_ts folder).  Can yamj use this?

  9. Very useful!  ;D

    This Monoprice power cable works great in this setup - just use one per Scythe assembly.  You can get the fan and all four drives connected with the power connector fed through to the other (hidden) side of the case.  Make it nice and clean.

    http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10226&cs_id=1022604&p_id=5188&seq=1&format=2

    I had a nice mess with all 18 inch cables but didn't really want to buy all new cables.  I'm glad i did thouhg -with the 10 inch ones it cleans up really nice.

  10. Figured it's time to post some pics of my rig (Heavilly influenced by neilt0 http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=2031.msg34915#msg34915)

    I REALLY like this Antec Twelve Hundred case and these Scythe hard drive stabilizers are just incredible for $9.  With this case I figured I might as well go for the power supply made for the it so I'm using the Antec 850.  Even ordered a fourth hard drive enclosure from Antec to get the 4th front fan with a knob (not switch) and filter - for $25 it was worth it.  Power and sata cables came from monoprice (started with 18 inch sata cables which were WAY too long and then got 10 inch for all but the top drives - much better)
