  1. Hey! I want to build a NAS. Here are the specifications Quiet Energy-saving Compact I really want to build you with a MINI ITX BOARD. What should the NAS be able to do? It should run UNRAID on it with a virtual machine (NextCloud) that serves as a NAS for all users to automatically sync directly to end devices and desktop PC (no other acceptable solution found with UNRAID). Then a maximum of 2 other VMs should run on UNRAID (NEXTCLOUD, OSX and WINDOWS 11) Then Wireguard should run on it so that you are always in the home network from outside. The NAS is most used on the go by other countries. I will be never in the home network, thats why Wireguard is neccesary . I only want to run 2 hard drives in it so 2 x 8 TB hard drives in which one mirrors the other. Like the small Synology, so that everything remains space-saving. This is what I came up with as hardware: It should fit in this CASE or Smaller one if possible : Cooler Master MasterBox NR200P Mini-ITX PC Case Motherboard: I dont know it should be low energy consuming maybe possible to use with a Pico PSU ? CPU: Minimum Quad Core maybe more ? To share the cores to the VM ? CPU RAM: 32 GB ? POWER SUPPLY.. PSU ENOUGH ? 2 x WD RED HARD DRIVES 8 TB Cache SSD: WD Blue SN570 1TB M.2 So now to my questions: Which Motherboard & CPU for ITX board is low energy consuming / maybe passive cooling possible ? Can I use a Pico PSU power supply or is there another way to minimize power consumption? Is a quad core or more processor to high for my usage ? Should always run stable because -- REMOTE ACCESS All this should fit into the case or is it even smaller? Thank you for your answers,
