  1. Hello, I want to build a small low power Unraid NAS. I want to use it mainly as a NAS, no big other power hungry requirements, I don't want to use VMs or other really powerhungry stuff. Maybe run Plex and some kind of Cloud server on it and yes, some kind of automated backup solution for my desktop, such stuff ... Still I don't want to be completly on the limit with my CPU, so yes, nothing too slow but also nothing crazy fast required... Ability to hardware transcode would be cool but no absolute requirement, but if its not much more money wise I would go with a setup that is able to hardware transcode ... And it doesn't have to be a system with ECC ram as far as I can tell, the NAS is for home use and there are no deadly important files on it, mostly multimedia and some backups (that are also not super important, everything is for "home use"). But yes I am upgrading my home to 2.5GbE so I really don't want to buy something with just 1GbE NICs. Also + for 2 NICs, but no absolute requirement. (I know in total 10GbE is better value for money when you buy everything new, but my desktop PC already has 2.5G and so has my router/switch/modem-combi-device) It should be in a smaller form factor or at least not full ATX, but I plan to use / have space for 4-5 3.5" HDDs. Do you have some recommendations for mainboard, CPU, case I should look into? I don't really have a price limit at the moment because I don't really know how much I need to pay for what I want out of this machine. But would be cool if it is under 500 euro (I am from Europe, but yes, around 500 USD)... But if this can be had for 400 euro or 350 euro I wouldn't say no... Or at least have a look on it and then decide if it's worth to pay the extra or not.
