  1. Hi guys, I have some questions, hoping you can help! Current specs of my server: 40 TB usable space (all shucked 8TB WD Reds) plus two more 8 TB parity drives, and an old Samsung 850 Evo 500gb ssd cache drive, that I use primarily for video editing (via 10 gig) to my mac mini and/or laptop, and also plex storage, though I don't actually run plex on the server itself due to old/inadequate hardware for transcoding. I built my server 2 or 3 years ago — I am by no means an expert — but it has been fantastic for what I need it for. So here's my question: I decided I wanted to upgrade the cache. So I just purchased two 1 TB SSD's. I want to run them in Raid0 for that extra speed to fully saturate my 10 gig link as much as possible when reading/writing to and from the server (I'm frequently writing up to a full TB at once, offloading footage from my shoots, sometimes on a daily basis). In a perfect world, I want to be able to use this new RAID0 cache — While ALSO still having that same info backed up to the actual array, but still stay on the cache. In other words, what would be awesome, if you guys can help me figure out the right way and shares to do it, is if I could back up my footage, to the cache, taking advantage of that nice, fast, I/O, and still have the mover copy the footage onto the array, so it's backed up, but leave it on the cache still, rather that emptying it. So that way I can edit current projects on the cache for as long as I need them there, but also have the peace of mind that it's still backed up to the actual array, and then I can just delete the "current projects" folder off the cache as I finish each project. So, TL;DR I want to be able to write data to a RAID0 set of cache SSD's, have that data also go onto the array, while also still staying on the Cache until I manually no longer need it there. What do you guys think is the best, most convenient way of doing this, without having to copy footage twice, or to two different shares?
