No, that cannot be rename, you can create/rename user shares since they are just any top level folder.

Thanks. My appdata folder sits inside that user folder. In fact it seems all my shares sit in there too. Are there system folders/files that need to remain in the user folder? Would I then create a new folder and move everything else to it? e.g. adguard_home, ApacheGuacamole, etc?

  2. Hi. I attempted to update to 6.11 RC4 the other day and I believe my flash drive failed part way though. Ultimately I restored to new key and left it as is. I don't know what version I was on before this, but I have a feeling I ended up going from 6.9 to where I am now at 6.10.3.

Once this was done a lot of things broke. Mainly docker and VM stuff as far as I can tell. From what I've read I need to rename the /mnt/user folder to something else. I've stopped the VM and Docker services, restarted and attempted to rename but it says its in use. My understanding is that I need to either rename the existing 'user' folder, or create a new one and move everything to it. Which of these options will work best?

    1. Can this folder simply be renamed along with VM and Docker paths updated and have it work? If so, what would be causing the folder to still be locked?
    2. Attempt the same as above but reboot into safe mode. (Never done this. No idea if that would work)
    3. Create a new folder and move everything from 'user' to the new folder.
    4. ??

What's the correct way of doing this? Is there anything else besides the VM and Docker service paths, along with all docker container path updates?

    Thanks

  3. Thanks. Made that change and tried the mover again. Unfortunately it keeps crashing seeing as that drive is on the way out. I tried downloading the docker.img manually but it fails. Is it possible for me to add in the 500GB SSD I was going to replace it with and use it as cache2? I'm not sure how that works. Does it strip the data across both, or would cache1 try and duplicate its data over to cache2?

    Thanks

  4. Hey everyone. My existing cache drive I've been using for probably six years or more is on its way out. I'm trying to replace it with an SSD. I've followed THESE instructions up until the part when you're supposed to initiate the mover. The mover ran for a while and stopped. From what I read the cache drive should now be empty, but its not. I'm wondering if I've misread something. Here are some screenshots of how I've set it. SHARES, CACHE DRIVE, CONTENTS OF CACHE after the mover ran. Looking through the other disks I don't see appdata or docker.img anywhere. I believe those are the most important folders I need. (Please correct me if I'm wrong)

Have I done this correctly, or should those files remain on the cache drive? If so, how does it copy to the new cache if its not on the array? Lastly, the existing cache drive is using riserfs. Can I set that to XFS and use that for the new one, or should I just leave it as is?

    Thanks for the help.

  5. Hey. I ran the "Fix Common Problems" plugin for the first time today and it informed me of several repos being depreciated, this being one of them. I noticed THIS link early in the thread but the link is dead. Is this posted anywhere with a different URL? I'd like to switch over to this repo, but I would really prefer not to have to start it over from scratch. I've been using it for years and it would take forever. Is there a way to switch over without losing everything?

    Thanks

  6. @jumperalex:

You don't need to install SOAP. You have to enable it. Edit the php.ini file in /boot/config/simpleFeatures/ search for the line ;extension=soap.so and remove the ; in front of it.

Disable and reenable the webserver. That's it.

    @Indy1204:

I think you need to install the SF base plugin. Having only the webserver one will not work.

Thanks. By base do you mean having all the other plg placed in the plugins folder? I took the zip file and just extracted them all in there. If there is something else would you mind linking to it for me?

    Thanks again

  7. Your webserver is not running as the status says "Stopped". You propably have another plugin installed, that installs an older ssl version as is needed by the SF webserver. Or you didn't edit the plugin file to download the correct sqlite package. If you did everything correctly the status should state "Running".

Is it possible to safely remove any existing web server plugins so I can start over? Any idea how I would do this?

EDIT: Something I just noticed after a reboot. In the Web Server section before selecting Enabled I see this.

"Warning: parse_ini_file(/var/local/emhttp/simpleFeatures.web.server.ini): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/simpleFeatures.webServer/WEBsettings.php on line 11"

    Thanks

  8. Hey everyone. Been trying to get this going for a couple days now but it just doesn't seem to work. I believe the plugin is running and active, but I'm not sure of the web server is working. When I click the "Start vboxwebserv" button it says its starting but nothing changes after the page refreshes. The log says this though.

    "Dec 20 14:11:32 Tank01 rc.virtualbox[15137]: /opt/VirtualBox/VBoxManage setproperty websrvauthlibrary null

    Dec 20 14:11:32 Tank01 rc.virtualbox[15139]: vboxwebsrv service started"

If I try to go to the page 10.x.x.x:8084 nothing comes up. Just the Chrome Oops page. Clicking the Web Server button and enabling that will not start either. I've attached a few screenshots. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Lastly, I read that the error I'm getting in the second jpg could be causing problems. How can I resolve that?

    Using 5.0.4

    Thanks

  9. Pretty sure the shots you posted have nothing to do with getting files moved after they are finished. Sickbeard is the one doing the moving, and it only moves tv shows that are in your list in Sickbeard, so it's to be expected that movies stay.

That makes sense. Is there a script or something that will move them once movies are completed? Or a way to configure SAB to save directly to the array and not to the cache?

  10. I have the Sick Beard and SAB plugins up and running on my unRAID server and its working almost 100%. I'm running a cache drive that is the install dir for SB and SAB. TV shows download without issue and are moved to the array when the mover runs daily. Movies on the other hand do not. They stay in the "complete" folder and never move. I always have to manually copy them over to the array. I'm confused because it seems it should work based on that the tv shows do. Here are a couple screen shots I took of some of the settings pages. If you need any more info just let me know. Ideally I would just want them to download directly to the array. Thanks.

P.S. I'm very new to unRAID so I apologize if there was a glaringly obvious omission on my part.

  11. EDIT: It looks like the Optiplex 755 was offered with these 4 Core2Quads: Q9650, Q9550, Q9400 and the Q6700. The first three support VT-d, the last one doesn't.

This is the output I get. Does this support VT-d?

  12. Looking at a sampling of processors that were available in the Dell Precision 690 from listings on eBay those CPUs do not support VT-d which is required for DirectPath I/O in ESXi. Your only option then would be to RDM all your disks which can cause/be a major headache. IMO you're better of just running unraid on bare metal and not trying to virtualize with your current system.

I just realized that after looking it up further. Shame cause this sucker had dual xeons in it. I'm trying to get the number of systems I have down to a minimum here. I also have a Optiplex 755 with a Core2 Quad in it which I think supports VT-d. I'll probably just keep the unRAID separate and use the 690 as my esxi box. I'd be too afraid of trying to move my existing unRAID array to ESXi anyway.

Thanks everyone for the help. This may be cheesy to say, but this forum is seriously amazing. Always someone there to help and offer advice. You don't find that too often.

  13. I've got everything working (I think) except I can't figure out how to map the USB key. I have my ESXi USB key and the UNRAID key both plugged into the esxi box. The computer boots to the esxi key. How exactly so I map the UNRAID key now?

You just add it as a usb device in your VM.

Go to the setting screen on your VM, Click "Add...".

Add USB Controller, then you add USB Device

Scroll down to "VM#3 unRAID VMDirectPath Hardware Passthough"

Thanks for the reply. Went through the steps but under Configuration>Advanced Settings it says "Host does not support passthrough configuration." I'm using a Dell Precision 690 with a Integrated Broadcom 5752 Gigabit Ethernet controller. I'm assuming that doesn't support passthrough? If I check the settings of the unRAID VM the network adapter says its Inactive. It info bubble says "The state of the attached network prevents DirectPath I/O.

Is this just a limitation of the build in nic?
