  1. I am so glad you made me double check! I was for certain that the monoprice was the molded type BUT just to be sure I took a sharp knife and wedged my way into the almost non-existent gap in the plastic. Sure enough it is the crimped style. I preferred these simply because they are very simple and seem to have less points that can fail. I'm going to give the monoprice a shot this evening. Thanks again for making me double check
  2. First off I just wanted to say thank you very much for this forum as I've learned a lot in the past 6 months since I began my Unraid journey. I've somehow managed to make it this far without making a post thanks to you guys but here I am overthinking something so simple lol. I Recently surpassed 80 percent usage of my 88tb media server (running dual parity drives) and I've been putting off adding my new 18tb drive. Of course My thermaltake 750w is currently out of sata connections which to me wasnt a big issue seeing as I have the peripheral to molex cable and there are a multitude of adapters on the market. I decided to buy a few types so I could at least get a look at them before making a decision. I did more reading on this than I'm willing to admit and so far I've done more harm than good in terms of making a decision. The cables I purchased were the -CableMod ModFlex Sleeved Molex to 4 x SATA Power adapter -Monoprice Data Cable - 0.50 Feet - SATA Serial ATA Splitter Power Cable (1x 5.25 to 2X 15-pin SATA Power Connector). In all of my reading I remember being told to stay away from the molded type of connector. I was under the impression that the monoprice wasnt the molded type and the same for the Cablemod. Looking at them closer they both actually look molded to me. The cablemod actually appears to not be molded on the joint connections but the end connection looks molded. Am I mistaken as to what the molded type looks like? I have no clue which one to use but I know that I'm likely overthinking this. Does anyone here have any experience with either of these connectors or care to nudge me in the right direction? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are a few more pics of the connectors if it helps at all
