  1. What is the most common software to use to change the fanart, cover, etc.?  I was using YANFOE.  I found that after a yamj-rescan yamj would randomly pick it's own pictures and not use the ones created by YANFOE.  Just curious what some of you are using with success.

My process is to use YANFOE to grab my artwork, then I put my own nfo file with just the url to the movie on IMDB.  My artwork is always used and it grabs the details from the correct movie on IMDB.  I copy exclusivley to \\tower\disk shares and everything stays together.  4 files for every movie (Movie, cover, fanart, and nfo).

quick clarification... I don't use YANFOE to scan my MEDIA share, I just use a temp folder each time with just the movies I'm adding.  Only takes a couple minutes this way and nothing ever get's overwritten.  Yea.. it's more manual.. but it works.

  2. I have tried different YAMJ version and from two identical unRAID systems, the one work and the other don't!

are the two "identical" unRaid systems not really identical in that one has a monitor and one doesn't?  Found a tip in the installation notes for linux:

Thanks to miklos.klaar for this tip: If you are running YAMJ on a linux server with no X11 or monitor (headless) installed you have to add:

    -Djava.awt.headless=true

to the java command line after the java command in MovieJukebox.sh. This will tell java not connect to the X11 server and allow the process to finish.

Changing my moviejukebox.sh file to read:

    java -Djava.awt.headless=true -Xms256m -Xmx1024m -classpath .:./resources:./lib/* com.moviejukebox.MovieJukebox "$@"

    did the trick.

Hope this helps someone else out.  Certainly was frustrating for me.  Just glad to have this setup.  On to getting AEON setup (and some sleep).

    :)

Dude!!  Nice job!  Definately one for the "notes".  Thanks for sharing.

  3. anyone?  this is very frustrating. Tom?

Have you by chance checked over at the networkedmediatank.com forums?  It may be tough for Tom to support this considering all the various configurations, etc.

you can always use a windows box and get it going for the time being then figure out why your unraid internal issues are happening.  Just a thought...

  4. I finally got my YAMJ all working on my Unraid Server using the PCH A-100 and A-110.  In my set up, I needed http streaming protocol since I have ripped the mt2s streams from several BDs.  The way I found it works best for me is:

    • moviejukebox dir lives on a PC on my network
    • media files all live on a single share on the unraid tower
    • the unraid share is mapped to a drive on the PC
    • libraries.xml points to the share for the library
    • bubba webserver running with personal site as the share on unraid tower
    • libraries.xml uses the webserver IP:port as the target to the actual media files
    • the jukebox update.bat is run from the PC

I like this set up in that I don't have anything on the tower except the Index.htm, data dir with jukebox files and the media files themsleves.

Coming from using YAMJ from myIhome for the last 2 years, this all makes it a little easier for me to manage.

So far it seems to be working well and serves the original goal of consolidating all my media to the tower.

Special thanks to sean_w_smith and Batfink for helping me get all this sorted out.

  5. Update..

So the 3 WD20EADS all successfully precleared in ~32 hrs.  shut down the server, put the 3 (F2 HD154UI ) back in and all 3 failed short smart test.  wtf?  Amazingly bad quality or incompatability with my hardware/unraid?

I RMA'd all 3 back to newegg and ordered 3 more WD20EADS just to be safe.

Also tried to kick off a preclear on the (F2 HD154UI ) and same thing as before.  It failed to get past 0%.  Interesting to say the least.

    thanks Joe..

I've replaced the 3 Samsungs with 3 WD 2TB EADS and preclear is running on them currently.

The F2 HD154UI act as if they just are not initializing when I try to preclear them.  It just sits at time elapsed :01 and hangs.

    Hardware:

    SUPERMICRO X7SBE

    Intel Celeron 430 1.80GHz

    Kingston 2Gb Ddr2 800Mhz Ecc Kvr800D2E5 1G (2 X 2GB)

    Supermicro Add-on Card AOC-SIM1U+

    Supermicro Add-on Card AOC-SASLP-MV8 (X2)

Supermicro CSE-M35T-1B Mobile Rack (Black) (X4)

Is it possible there is a firmware or jumper issue with the samsungs?  This really took me by surprise.  I've always had great success with the samsungs in my windows pcs.

Is it possible that my mobo sata settings are the fault here? (AHCI?)

Actually this is the post that got me thinking...
