  1. I found that by using Scrren and letting the Nix_Script run, that most errors will work themselves out as the new regex files are released. But all the garbled release titles are still annoying me.
  2. I have so many releases with a crapload of scrambled letters, numbers, etc that there is no way of knowing what they are. Does everyone else see this as well? Most end up in the Misc catagory. Of course I do have the releases with normal titles as well... but figure allot of the really good stuff is burried in the garbled releases.
  3. Robbie, First off ... Thanks so much for the original Unraid show, as it definately helped me with my first build. As for a 8GB SSD drive, ... well.. things since the 1st show have progressed and in the age of 40TB common Unraid builds, that 8GB drive is equal or less than most thumb drives. A future show on the massive media server capabilities of a 20+ drive Unraid server would probably attract allot of viewers and spark allot of interest in the "geek world" which most of us live. Have to admire the fact you hate to part with that 8GB drive... I can TOTALLY relate! lol
  4. I saw this post in my RSS reader and it scared the shit out of me.
  5. RGB bought 2 keys on preconfigured thumb drives. He's simply wanting to confirm he can plug the 2nd thumb drive into a remote PC for a 2nd Unraid instance without any issues.
  6. Couldn't resist. Thanks for the post. A new toy to play with. yay!
  7. Sounds like the Power Supply. I saw this exact issue 2 weeks ago on a brand new PS.
  8. I had a similar issue and it was a bad hdd. Best to boot with 1 drive, then 2, then 3, etc.. until you find the culprit.
  9. Excellent news Tom. Makes me feel good about all the bragging I do about how great Unraid and this community is
  10. That's pretty sweet. What the hell makes it so expensive I wonder.. All DataCenters should have a couple of these on hand for customers (Loaners). Beats rolling around the cart with a circa 1995 17" CRT dragging cords..
  11. I've been using YAMJ since the beginings and since I have it pretty well figured out, I've just stuck with it. I've also had PCH's since the A100 and in fact still have my 1st A100 and 2 A110's in addition... all of it happy and playing nice with my YAMJ setup. I use XBMC on several 1st-gen 8GB XBOX's and will likely lean towards XBMC as an overall solution if I ever move away from YAJM on my appliance HD Streamers (PCH's).
  12. Anything new on this or other DNLA / Samsung / Unraid solutions?
  13. I pd the extra to get a 2nd Pro license and no way I'm selling it. Limetech has provided us a very good solution and the 2nd license is a favor to us the way I see it.. so if there is USB key failure, then we can keep our servers up while waiting on a new license. I'm guessing the OP just hasn't worked on a dev shop before and doesn't realize what goes into developing software.
  14. I needed a spare for failure event.. so I snagged one at this price. $89 shipped 2 day free... (prime).. just can't beat it. Now that I have forced a FW update on one and it seems to be fine, that part really isn't too much concern. Much less than the EARS and thier jumpers.
  15. Yea.. power supply was the first thing that came to mind when I read the post... maybe just a dud.. maybe another cause.
  16. sorry.. not trying to make light of the situation.. but yea.. LAMO.. "smoke = bad"
  17. Not entirely the case. lol For one, SMART was not enabled on the last batch of Sammy 2TB I and others here bought. and also.. the WD20EADS have been flawless for me so far. Fast and cool. No bullshit jumper settings and SMART enabled and reporting as it should. If the Sammys are now SMART enabled and hassle free.. I will go back to them.
  18. I just forced mine to CC35. Not sure what the hell all those switches in the cmd line did but it was quick and painless. Powered back up and all is well.
  19. I concur. I have bought from them on/off for 10 yrs. On more than one occasion, I've vowed to never buy from them again, but always get suckered back in with a deal. One thing lately I have started doing is buying from them "through" Amazon. Search the product on Amazon and many times buy.com will show up as an available purchase option. This should then allow the fantastic return policy of Amazon to apply.. (i think)..
  20. Well I'll be damned.. You're right Neil. I guess I'll be taking the tower down this weekend and forcing the flash. Thanks for the info. Run a SMART report and take a look at the Seek_Error_Rate and/or Raw_Read_Error_Rate...
  21. Thanks Joe! That is easy... install unMENU. If you less than 1GB of RAM, stop the unRAID server. This will free up the ram used by user-shares and if you do run out, you'll not be faced with a full parity check if you have to reboot. Go to the Package-Manager Click on the "gcc" compiler package. Click on the button to download it. Click on the button to Install it. Click on the button to Show All Packages. If running an early version of unRAID you'll also need to download and install the pbzip2 package. Click on the "pbzip2" package. Click on the button to download it. Click on the button to Install it. Click on the button to Show All Packages. Click on the AirVideo package. Click on the button to Download the files affiliated with AirVideo Edit the configuration fields on the AirVideo package to specify the folders you wish shared and the "password" Save the edited values Click on the button to Install AirVideo (It will take 5 minutes or more to compile. On my 2 core 2.6GHz Celeron MB it took a bit over 10 minutes.) Once the browser returns, wait a minute for the AirVideo server to start and then give it a try. (You can re-start the unRAID server here if you stopped it earlier) If AirVideo works as desired, press the button to Re-install on re-boot. Joe L.
  22. Do we have a step by step installation now that is up to date with all Joe L's contributions?
