  1. Like the title says. I've been busy so I've not messed with unRAID for a long time. I use the media server all the time, but stopped tinkering with it years ago. Now I wonder if I should upgrade to current unRAID OS. I have original 2 key full license. The hardware is one of those HP microServers: HP 658553-001 ProLiant N40L Ultra Micro Tower Server System AMD Turion II Neo N40L 1.5GHz w/4GB RAM I have 5 drives in it (full, only holds 5): Parity: 4TB Drive 1: 4TB Drive 2: 2TB Drive 3: 2TB Drive 4: 2TB Not looking to upgrade at the moment even though server is 98% full, as funds are tight. Since I've been out of the loop on unRAID for at least 3 years (maybe longer) what do you guys think? I'll start researching the forums here but any advice/thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
  2. I honestly don't remember. Server's been sitting unplugged for 18 months, when I finally got back around to it I decided to go with microserver build and so am parting this one out.
  3. Like the title says. Downgraded my unRAID server, so these parts are for sell. (Looking for good deals on 2TB and higher drives, and intel PCIe nic card. Open to trades on those). Local to Alameda, CA and can meet at a BART station during the day. Paypal for shipping or cash for local meet up. PM me here if interested in anything you see. References here: http://www.heatware.com/eval.php?id=3238 (also Paypal verified) The Stuff Asus P5B-VM DO cpu/mobo/ram combo. Heart of my unRAID server. Bought new, but don't have original box anymore. I bought this because this was the motherboard Limetech was using at the time to build the 1500 unRAID servers, and I wanted maximum stability/reliability, and it has never disappointed. CPU is a celeron (forget which one, sorry. Can lift the HSF to find out if needed) and has a 1GB stick of Kingston RAM. It flawlessly ran a 14 drive server through it's 6 onboard sata ports + through 2x 4 port SATA cards. While this combo is not up to running plex media server or VM machines, if you want a rock solid, simple unRAID server, this will do it nicely. Looking for $70 shipped or $55 pickup for the combo IcyDock 5 in 3 Hotswap cage Looking for $85 shipped or $70 pickup. SOLD Antec 900 case Case only, no PSU and the 2 x HDD "cages" (NOT hotswapable) that came with the case are already sold. Also, do not have most of the front covers as I'd populated all nine 5 1/4 bays. I think I still have 1 or 2 bay covers. Aside from that, case is in excellent condition. Very solid construction, and seems to be custom made for an unRAID server with 9 5 1/4 bays and cooling. Buy the icydock above, add two more and you're running 15 drives $50 cash pick up only, will not ship. 2x Promise SATA300 TX4 4Port SATA Adapter. These are PCI, not PCIe cards. Worked well with the Asus P5B-VM DO mobo above. Comes with card, low profile bracket, 2x sata cables, driver disc (not used for unRAID) and manual. $30 shipped priority mail, $25 pickup. Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe combo. Upgraded my main PC from this, has been solid. Has more omph then the P5B-VM combo above, but have never used this for unRAID. Comes with 2x Corsair XMS matched pair of 1GB sticks (2GB RAM total) and a dual core "Opter-own" CPU. I forgot to write it down before upgrading, but if you want/need to know I can remove the Zalman HSF to see. Comes with mobo, RAM, CPU and optionally Zalman HSF. Looking for $85 shipped IF, IF you are willing to do without the Zalman HSF. Add $25 if you want the Zalman too. $70 local pickup on mobo/cpu/ram only, $85 if you want the Zalman too.
  4. *sigh* ok I'm a tard and fscked up the reiserfsck by doing it on the wrong disk doing it on disk 4 shows one corruption which is being fixed now, will update post when done. I'm normally not this dum. Reelie. EDIT: Aaaaaaannnnnnnd it's gone!
  5. they're not on the same disk. What I mean is, I have the copies of these movies on disk 1 (where I want them) now trying to delete the duplicates on disk 4. Was able to do that to 90% of the movies, but these last few don't want to go.
  6. tried and tried.Several times. Gary these movies are all on one disk, I have been trying to delete from the individual disk and NOT shares from the very beginning.
  7. the action was done thru disk shares, and I assume restarting both windows and unRAID boxes would restart samba as well. Thx for the try though
  8. OK I wound up with some duplicate files, and was able to delete all of them but a handful of movies, but they refuse to go. I keep banging my head against this: I'm running 5.0rc12, windows machine is XPsp3. Syslog is attached. I've tried rebooting both machines. I've googled and searched forums here, to that end I tried the Check Disk Filesystems and ran reiserfsck as per the instructions in the wiki. EDIT: Ran reiserfsck on the wrong disk. Pay attention folks when reading, esp if you cut & paste commands from anywhere. Running reiserfsck with the fixable switch solved the issue *sigh* any suggestions on how to delete the files? syslog-2013-06-09.txt
  9. ok I've been reviewing the data on the 300gb drive and it seems to be good (or if it's the array simulating the disk) i've played several HD movies and no hiccups. I'm just copying the data over to free space on HD#1. After that I confirm succesful copy, I'll delete the data off 300gb drive, unasign it, then physically remove it, initconfig, then add the 1.5TB drive as a free space drive (no data rebuild because it's moved off the 300GB drive Yes? No?
  10. well I'm not out of the woods yet. Came back and after parity check this is what I've got: I was planning on replacing the 300GB here with the 1.5TB drive. (I populated the 5.0 array first with the 500GB and 300GB drives in order to have space for the data off a 750GB drive in my old server, I moved the data off it, then moved it to this array, etc) So....what do I do? How to replace the 300GB drive and not lose data on it if parity is not to be trusted? move the data off the 300gb drive onto the free 750gb drive (disk 1)? then remove 300gb drive, initconfig, then parity sync+check? Just replace the 300gb drive now with the 1.5tb drive? Arrrg, I've had unRAID for almost 6 years but I've never really tweaked with it except at the beginning. Got it up and going, and just updated thru 4.7. It just sat there and ran. I wouldn't have even updated to 5.0 except that I knew I would have to populate this smaller server with 2TB> drives soon. Sorry for you guys having to hold my hand and help me across the street, but I sure do appreciate it
  11. Parity sync just completed, now doing a parity check.........est time 550 minutes arrg. Wait and wait and more wait. People who have to move multi TB or add multi TB disks must have their servers down for days...
  12. welp looks like I paniced over nothing, or it was something and seems to have resolved itself. This morning I no longer hear the drive whirring and writing, so just for the hell of it I try the webgui- it comes right up, with parity sync in process. Avg speed around 80mb/s. Maybe it cleared the drive and then started the parity sync? Either way, glad I let it run instead of hard reboot.
  13. So I have a new 5.0rc12 box, and upgraded it's parity drive with the 2TB disk (parity) from my 4.7 box, and set for parity sync. Started at 10am on the 6th, it said parity would take est 600 minutes, which is 10 hours. Now it's 15 hours, 45 min later and I still hear the drive writing. But when I try to access the web gui to check progress, it times out. I wouldn't mind it taking so long if I could just access the webgui and see progress. Neither the normal webgui nor unMENU come up.
  14. I'll go this route. Currently doing parity sync with 2TB drive. Once that's done by this evening, I'll replace the 300GB drive (smallest drive) in the 5.0 array with the 1.5TB drive, and then when that's all up and going, I'll move the data over. I just hope the HD that are showing up as "missing" will show up and read in the eSATA caddy...........
