  1. I'm pretty sure one of my drives in clicking in my unRAID server. 1. How do I figure out which drive is clicking? I can hear a drive clicking, which I've read means that it's probably going to die soon and I should replace it. But unRAID tells me the S.M.A.R.T. status of all my drives is okay. 2. Do I just wait for the drive to die? 3. What steps do I take if I can identify the clicking drive? I'm assuming I take out the offending drive, install a new drive, and then... do something or press some button so that unRAID rebuilds the lost data. 4. How long would unRAID take to rebuild a 2TB drive?
  2. I have tried setting this up again from scratch, bit I still cannot get Handbrake and the "convert.sh" script to automatically convert videos. Nothing I try seems to work. Here's my setup: 1. My Volume Mappings of Handbrake 2. Handbrake GUI (0.10.5 x86_64) 3. Folder Structure of Cache Drive and Handbrake 4. My Convert.sh File (changed PRESET to "Ipod") I have included a Test MP4 video file in 3 different locations: a. mnt/cache/appdata/handbrake/Watch-Folder b. mnt/cache/docker apps/handbrake/Input c. mnt/cache/docker apps/handbrake/Watch-Folder I have spent a few hours trying to get this to work, but so far have come up empty handed. I have changed the "SRC=" in convert.sh a few times to "/Input" hoping that would compel the script to run, but that did not work. I also created a "Watch-Folder" folder within the "docker apps" folder to see if that would work, but that didn't work either. Is there something wrong with my settings? Is anyone having success with getting Handbrake to automatically encode and export video files? Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make this work? Thanks. Any help is appreciated.
  3. This might help - https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=47686.0
  4. I've been using unRAID more and more since upgrading to unRAID 6 and the inclusion of Docker Technology. When I setup Docker, I followed this YouTube guide: http://bit.ly/2498gMr (using a bit.ly link because the YouTube link won't show up) It suggests putting everything on the Cache Drive and pointing the '/config' Volume Mapping to '/cache/appdata/dockername' For example, if I was installing Plex, I would select Plex and it would originally show: Container Volume: /config Host Path: /mnt/user/appdata/PlexMediaServer But I would change this to: Container Volume: /config Host Path: /mnt/cache/appdata/PlexMediaServer ---- However, I'm having some issues. Issue 1 - If my Cache Drive fails, I lose all of my Dockers and their config files. Issue 2 - Every Docker App I install seems to install a Share of the same name, which is very annoying, but I really don't need a share of NZBGet. When I log into unRAID from the Mac Finder, all of these new Shares pop-up. This seems very odd to me. For example, Finder asks me if I want the following Shares mounted ever since I started installing Docker Apps: appdata couchpotato deluge Docker filebot nzbget nzbhydra sickrage sonarr This just seems weird to me. ------ Questions: 1. Is installing Dockers to the Cache Drive really stupid? 2. Where and how do you guys install your Dockers? Is there a best way to install Dockers? 3. Is there any way to turn off unRAID creating all of these extra new useless shares based on the Dockers that I install?
  5. Sparklyballs, thanks for making this docker. I have a few questions (for anyone with a good answer, doesn't have to bo Sparklyballs.) 1. What is the right way to do the volume mapping? I uninstalled Handbrake because I wasn't sure if I was doing the volume mapping right. I have a user Share called "Automation". My original settings - http://i.imgur.com/Tx2u0Xq.png Are these settings better? - http://i.imgur.com/ex4jQuB.png Or is there a third and better way to do the volume mapping? 2. How do you get the "Watched-Folder" to automatically process files? I have tried putting files into the "Watched Folder" (using my original volume mappings) but my Finder wouldn't let me upload files into that folder. I'm assuming it's a permissions problem. And secondly, what do you have to do to get the "Watched Folder" to actually process those files automatically? I know you're supposed to edit the script to use (I think) the HandbrakeCLI, but how do you actually activate the CLI? Do you have to so manually? Or are the automatic settings in the Script you're supposed to edit? ----- Note: Sorry if these are noob questions. I have read this entire thread from the beginning and a great deal of it went over my head. I'm trying to clarify things so I can get things working on my end. Hope this post helps other users out.
  6. I am having trouble setting this up correctly as well. I am just trying to get Plex, Sabnzbd, and Couch Potato working together "automagically" but I feel like I'm missing something, specifically I feel like I'm doing volume mappings incorrectly. Here are my volume mappings for the Plex, Sabnzbd, and Couch Potato: Plex /config - /mnt/cache/appdata/PlexMediaServer /media - /mnt/user/movies/1 - HD x264/ /television - /mnt/user/television/ Sabnzbd /config - /mnt/cache/appdata/sabnzbd /downloads - /mnt/cache/sabnzbd/ Couch Potato /config - /mnt/cache/appdata/couchpotato /downloads - /mnt/cache/couchpotato/downloads /movies - /mnt/cache/couchpotato/movies As you can see, almost everything is mapped to the Cache drive, except for the location of media and television in Plex. When I use Couch Potato, it downloads via Sabnzbd into /mnt/cache/sabnzbd. 1. But then within Couch Potato, I can't see /mnt/cache/sabnzbd, I can only see /mnt/cache/coachpotato 2. And even if I could fix this, how is Couch Potato ever supposed to move the files into a share that it can't even see because of the volume mapping limits it to only /mnt/couchpotato 3. Are these the only 3 docker apps that I need, or do I need a separate app like FileBot to move things around and rename things? - I hope not, because Filebot doesn't seem to have a WebUI so I'd like to avoid that if possible. I feel like I'm missing something really obvious here. I've basically tried to keep the Docker Apps separated and on the Cache Drive and then I was eventually hoping to move things to the parity protected shares "automagically", but it seems that the way that I've set things up has made that idea impossible. How exactly are you supposed to set these apps up so that this works?
  7. I will try the Binhex deluge support thread. I searched for a Needo Deluge support thread, but couldn't find one.
  8. I am pretty much having this exact same problem as posted by KermitJR. On my end, I have tried installing both Needo/Deluge and Binhex/Deluge. For both of them, I have inputted the password 'deluge' at the login screen. - http://i.imgur.com/piz5xFZ.png From there, what comes up is the "Connection Manager." - http://i.imgur.com/nsI1Ous.png I honestly have no idea what to type into the Connection Manager. I have tried typing in the internal ip of my unRAID server, with user passwords, with the password deluge without any users, etc. etc. Nothing has worked. How are you supposed to setup Deluge?
  9. I wanted to update how I got the TP-Link TL-WR841N working with my unRAID setup. I'm currently not using this setup and instead using a Powerline solution - http://amzn.to/1n4HQgc But if you have this router and want to make it work, here's how I did it. Get the TP-Link TL-WR841N Router working with unRAID - Plug the router into unRAID - Connect to the Router with the MacBook Pro via ethernet - Go to 192.168.0.1 - Login into the router - Click Wireless - Go to Wireless Settings - Change the Wireless Network Name (Whatever you want) - Enable WDS Bridging - Click "Survey" - Select the Wifi network that has internet - Type in the password - Save - Click Wireless Security - Type in a password (whatever you want) - Click Save - Click Network - Click LAN - Type in an IP Address for the TP-Link TL-WR841N Wireless Router - 192.168.0.2 works - Click Save - Click DHCP - Click DHCP Settings - Click Disable - Click Save - Click System Tools - Click Reboot - Wait ------- These are the steps I used to make this setup work. I was able to access the internet and my unRAID Server through wireless when I was connected to my main wireless router due to enabling WDS Bridging and turning off DHCP.
  10. I wanted to update this thread with what I've tried so far. Mr-hexen suggesed a powerline adapter so I decided to try that first. The sales guy recommended the TP-Link TL-PA8030P Powerline Kit. The reviews looked good so I bought it - http://amzn.to/1n4HQgc One unit is placed in the living room plugged into my cable modem/router. The other unit is in the bedroom plugged into my unRAID Server. Setting up the unit was very easy, just press a button on both units and the Powerline adapters connected automatically. Since there are 3 ethernet ports on each Powerline units, I have 3 options for connecting to unRAID using this configuration. Speeds with a Cache Drive 1. WiFi Upload Speed - ~10MB/s up 2. Ethernet Powerline Living Room (the one connected to the Cable Modem/Router) = 11.5MB/s upload 3. Ethernet Powerline Bedroom (the one connected to unRAID) = 80MB/s Currently, I'm fairly happy with this. I have a fairly decent upload speed using wireless. And I have a much faster upload speed using ethernet when I really need it. So I might just keep this configuration for now since it meets my needs and it all worked very easily. Should I expect faster wifi upload speeds? Because other than that, everything like uploading, downloading, streaming seems to be working fine. The only issue I'm currently having is I'm having trouble getting Bittorrent Dockers like Deluge and Transmission working. I don't think that that's because of these Powerline adapters, but I haven't tracked down the problem yet. I think the issue might be because my uBee DDW36C cable modem from the cable company sucks when it comes to port forwarding, but we'll see If anyone has any advice or a YouTube link on getting one of the Bittorrent Dockers working (Deluge, Transmission, or rTorrent/ruTorrent) please let me know and I'll report back when I have this whole thing working.
  11. Could you add a little more there? Are you trying to improve the speed of transfers from your laptop to your unRAID server? Or the speed of transfers from the internet directly to your unRAID server (no laptop involved)? I am trying to increase the speed (up and down) between the unRAID server and my Laptop.
  12. My Cable Modem/Router (all in one unit from the cable company) is in the living room. It broadcasts the main wireless signal. The unRAID server is in the bedroom. The unRAID server is connected to the TP-Link TL-WR841N Wireless router. The TP-Link router wirelessly connected/bridged to the the main Cable Modem/Router in the living room. So basically on my laptop, I can be on either wireless signal (living room or bedroom) and I can both access the internet and the unRAID server. My main goal is to improve the transfer speed up and down to the unRAID server so I can upload and download faster. I am going to add a cache drive, but I also think getting a router (or switch) with gigabit ports will allow me to upload much faster to the unRAID server especially if I connect my laptop to a wired port. Basically the TP-Link router is a good router (it's the #1 selling router on Amazon) but it sells for $20 and it doesn't have gigabit ports so if I need gigabit ethernet ports I need to make some type of upgrade. So I'm asking for recommendations on routers/switches from the unRAID community.
  13. I currently have a router attached to my unRAID Server - the TP-Link TL-WR841N Wireless Router - http://amzn.to/20VD57w I've discussed that router here - http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=46091.msg440417#msg440417 However, I'm trying to increase my transfer speeds, both for uploading to the unRAID server and for wirelessly streaming to my devices. 1. Do I need to replace my router with a better router that includes gigabit ports? - http://amzn.to/1V3RScP These seem to range in the $99-199 range with some approaching almost $400. 2. Or can I get by with just purchasing a Gigabit Switch? - http://amzn.to/1Q7qsyi These seem to range in the $20-30 range. 3. If I need a new wireless router, which routers do you guys recommend for the fastest wired and wireless transfer speeds, both upload and download?
  14. I have an unRAID Tower that I just upgraded to unRAID 6.1.7 and it seems to be working great so far. However, I am having one problem that I was hoping you guys could help me with. Currently I have the unRAID Tower in my bedroom and a uBee Cable Modem/Router (all-in-one unit from the cable company) is the living room. Previously I had run a very long ethernet cable from the unRAID Tower to the cable modem/router but I can no longer easily do that. So I currently have the unRAID tower hooked up to a spare wireless router that I haven't used in a while that I got from Amazon, the TP-Link TL-WR841N Wireless N300 Home Router. TP-Link TL-WR841N at Amazon (non-referral) While not the fastest router, it's been working fine when I wirelessly connect to it with my laptop. However, I cannot browse the internet because the TP-Link router is in my bedroom and it's not connected to the Cable Modem/Router in my living room. I have been able to bridge/connect these devices and setup the TP-Link as a Wifi extender using the tutorial here - http://scottyzone.com/2014/12/28/setup-tp-link-tl-wr841n-as-a-wi-fi-extender/ While that works and I can be wirelessly connected to the TP-Link router and browse the internet, I cannot seem to access my unRAID tower anymore. Is there anyway to have the TP-Link router connected to the unRAID tower, wirelessly connected to the router as an extender so I can browse the internet, and be able to access my unRAID tower all at the same time?
  15. Do I need to purchase a new unRAID 6 license if I've already purchased unRAID 4.7 in the past? Also, how exactly do I upgrade from unRAID 4.7 to unRAID 6 without destroying all of my data? Is there a tutorial or a set of steps written up somewhere that describes the best way to upgrade your unRAID 4.7 system? Thanks guys.
