  1. thank you all for the reponese. FYI, here is the answer from supermicro support: Ziguan, There are 2 LED onboard. One is power LED which is on solid. It mean the power supply is supplying power to the motherboard. The other LED which blinking is refer to IPMI chipset. That mean the chipset is on and working. Technical Support ES
  2. The manual that comes with the board probably explains what the LEDs are for and what they mean. read but found nothing about those LEDs. does that happen on your boards?
  3. just got my X7SPA-HF and have few questions. when boot up. there are two green LED on the board. one stay solid, and the other one is blinking slowly, (this one is below a big chip and behind the second net connector.) does that mean something is wrong? besides the led. everything else seem to be working. first tried with nothing hook up to the board except power and network cable. then hook up a harddrive and installed RH. also tried upgrade the BIOS to the latest. the green LED is still blinking. thank you in advance for any answers. ziguan
  4. hi, new here, please delete if this is off topic. planning to build a nas with a X7SPA-HF and 4 disks in raid 5. don't know if anyone here use anything besides unraid. I am thinking to use RH or SUSE. but I am confused with the raid on this board. it's it a h/w raid or I have to use s/w raid? does it appear as one disk in linux? and from their official manual, raid is only supported in windows? thank you,
