  1. Hello, Based out of Canada, I envy my neighbors in the USA with easy access to good hardware I want buy a 4U ATX rack-mount case that support 8 to 12 HDD, ideally 8 HDD and 2x2.5 SSD. First time Unraid builder, this has been on my mind for long time, now that one of my 5+ year intel bug Synology hardware has failed, it's time to build one on my own. I will reusing 5xHDD from the failed NAS(reformatted) and Unraid will used for serving media files, plex etc. I have been researching for the last 2 weeks and ended up with analysis paralyzes. I have looked into the below cases. My experience with Synology, twice I had to replace failed HDD from 2 different NAS and it was easy. Below 2 cases doesn't support Hot Swap. Reviews/forums are saying if they had option they would go the hot swap route, main reason being: 1)Rat nest of wires 2)Difficult to swap out failed drives, broken SATA cables and HDD read errors due to cable disconnects etc. 3)Rosewill 15 Bay HDD plastic mounts(purple) is not holed up correctly. 4)Some fried HDD. I will using LSI IT mode cards, Is there any way I can overcome the rat nest of wires for power supply?. Below supports Hot Swap: Rosewill RSV-L4412U 4U Server Chassis Rackmount Case | 12 Hot Swap 3.5", 2.5" SATA I, SATA II, SATA III SAS | E-ATX Compatible | 3 Front 120mm Fans, 2 Rear 80mm Fans | USB 3.0 2.0 | Front Panel Lock https://www.newegg.ca/rsewill-rsv-l4412u-black/p/N82E16811147330 Silverstone RM41-H0B 4U Rackmount Server Case with 5 x 3.5 Hot-Swappable Bay and 3 x 5.25 Bays with USB 3.1 Gen 1 https://www.amazon.ca/Silverstone-RM41-H0B-Rackmount-Server-Hot-Swappable/dp/B084T99PMV/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=silverstone+4u&qid=1686760309&sr=8-5 with SilverStone Technology Hard Drive Enclosure Internal, 3 X 5.25 Inch to 5 X 3.5 Inch Hot-Swap SATA/SAS Hard Drive Cage, Up to 12Gbit/S Transfer Rate with All Aluminum Body (SST-FS305-12G) https://www.amazon.ca/SilverStone-Technology-Enclosure-Internal-SST-FS305-12G/dp/B07ZWK1337/ref=pd_bxgy_sccl_2/134-8360907-7119968?pd_rd_w=lD5ys&content-id=amzn1.sym.93ae3f3f-3555-4971-a952-df8053b1d375&pf_rd_p=93ae3f3f-3555-4971-a952-df8053b1d375&pf_rd_r=PC20VNZYSPMVD76RM53E&pd_rd_wg=OVpe7&pd_rd_r=e980d1a9-79cc-4930-8f5d-d57b4f64c574&pd_rd_i=B07ZWK1337&psc=1 Reading up the reviews on newegg and amazon and elsewhere, I found that they are not reliable and prone to disconnection and broken connectors. With supermicro discontinuing the 5bay swap drives, I'm unable to find good alternatives. Thanks for your help.
