hi all,
I have a server which has Ubuntu on it, with a small ssd boot drive and 2 x 4TB data drives.
Drive 1 - syncthing syncronises 3 mini PCs on my network to this drive
Drive 2 - this drive has a folder acting as a time machine back up drive for all the apple devices on my network
I'm pretty sync of linux being linux and changing random stuff with permissions and mount points that breaks the set up above, even though nothing in the enviornment changes to cause it, so I'm thinking of giving Unraid a try.
My main question is, can I put unraid on a usb stick and try it out without wiping the current OS and the data / file structure on the drives? Or do I need to wipe everything / some things and start again?
Other question - If I want to do the same thing as I currently have above, how do I sync network folders with corresponding folders on the unraid machine? carry on using syncthing or does unraid have something smarter built in?
thanks for any advice you can give!
