  1. So, I did a smart scan on my "other drive" that is not part of the array... http://pastebin.com/H8zxbWEM maybe this is the problem?

I am not quite sure where the issue is, or if it is a drive, or controller issue? I am running an ASROCK A785GM-LE/128M mother board, with an athlon x640 processor, it has 6 onboard SATA ports, and then I have 2x VANTEC UGT-ST310R controller cards (PCI 4port sata). I've never had any issue, until last week when I changed my case out for a better air flowing case, then for some reason, i had a drive failure (ended up with TONNES of errors), so I swapped the drive out, and it rebuilt fine. I am in the midst of preclearing another drive as I have < 200GB free in the array oh yeah, my array consists of 9 (soon to be 10) WD20EARS drives (jumpered 7/8) and a single 160GB sata drive I use as my download drive (not attached to the array) Any pointers in the right direction to why i am getting these errrors, or what you think they are... would be helpful. thanks in advance! 3. Actually, I think it was the permissions on the file itself... I just changed it to: chmod 777 -R /mnt/user/tv/justified/* and i can see them now.
  4. http://pastebin.com/Mwh66HiL line 6 doesn't show up when viewing in the share...
  5. HI there, I've moved a lot of files to my unraid lately... and just recently, i've noticed they are not showing up via the samba share. if I manually look on the server, it is there, but if i search via windows exporer, it is not. i've checked on a few machines, and even a couple of linux ones... and they are not showing up. Any ideas? Steve
  6. Yes Yes No Peter so, if i put the 3 questions, with your 3 answers... Does the cache drive work in this way? Yes if the array is "rebuilding" or wahtever, will the apps I run still "run" in the background? Yes will the array be able to be stopped properly without having to stop the "apps" first? No I assumed that this is what you meant.
  7. Ok, is there a "pre stop array script" and a "post array start script" that can be used? so this way, my "apps" can be started and stopped properly... also, you mentioned that YES my apps will run if the array is stopped, BUT, how can the array be stopped, if the apps are running still? Steve.
  8. What all do I have to do, to upgrade? just copy over the flash, and reboot? -- edit -- duh... simple searching...
  9. Hi there. I currently have my unRaid set up with: parity device: WD20EARS disk1 device: WD20EARS disk2 device: WD20EARS disk3 device: WD20EARS disk4 device: WD20EARS disk5 device: WD20EARS disk6 device: WD20EARS disk7 device: WD1600JB (IDE) (soon to be switched to WD20EARS) and I have another "mounted" drive, ST3160023AS, mounted in /mnt/user/other_drive on this "other_drive", i have my: MySQL SABnzbd SickBeard CouchPotatoApp "post processing directory" "download directory" on this drive, so this way, even if the array is down for whatever reason, my downloads will still "download", and stopping the array is fine. What I was wondering, is I just "acquired" a 1TB 7200 drive, and I was thinking maybe I should use this as my "cache" drive, as I am downloading way too much per day, so this way it will only "write" to the array once a day, rather than all day long when the stuff downloads. Does the cache drive work in this way? if the array is "rebuilding" or wahtever, will the apps I run still "run" in the background? will the array be able to be stopped properly without having to stop the "apps" first? Am I making sense?? THanks. Steve (TheStapler)
  10. maybe a simple "search" would have given me the answer I was looking for... sorry... seems like it works just fine Steve.
  11. Hi, I was browsing the intertubes, and came across this: http://www.supermicro.com/products/accessories/addon/AOC-SAT2-MV8.cfm will this work in unraid? for $110, it seems like a PERFECT card, and since i have 6 onboard sata, and 2 PCI-X slots, this would fill me up just right! I currently have 1 of these: http://www.vantecusa.com/en/product/view_detail/391 which is a cheap PCI 4 port card, and it works fine.... just looking to add more!!!
  12. Hi, over the last few days, I've noticed that my write speeds are VERY slow... i mean, 2 1/2 minutes to move a 350MB file (on the UNRaid machine) I have: 6) 2TB data drives, and a 160GB drive (dont ask) 1) 2TB parity drive, 1) 160GB drive (SAB, SickBeard, download drive as to be totally separate from the array) All my downloads go to that single 160gb drive, and then moves to the array when it's done (i am thinking that this would be considered the "cache" drive... looking at doing that next). I did a parity check last night, and no errors were found. I am not really sure what the problem is... I haven't tried rebooting the machine yet... i shoulnd't really have to i wouldn't think... the machine is: AMD Athlon II X4 640 Processor 6 onboard 3gbps sata ports, Silicon Image, Inc. SiI 3114 (i think it's a vantec, with 4 ports PCI bus) asrock motherboard (forget the model) all my 2tb drives are WD20EARS and i've never had any write speed issues up until the last few days. here is a link to my "main" page of my unmenu: http://imm.io/4kmZ PLease help me figure out where to look next?
