Worked for me... If you're not sure where that option is (like I was at first):
To force update, you have to toggle BASIC VIEW to get the ADVANCED VIEW instead
Once you do that, you'll have a force update button next to each app (I haven't seen an option to do do a bulk force update, so AFAIU, you'll need to do this one by one), for example:
