  1. So I used FTP to transfer a large file from my PC to the actual cache folder directly on Unraid and was able to get 10G speeds. However, when I map my Share folder called "files" on Windows and attempt to copy the same file from Windows to Unraid I get 1G speeds. It is like even though I set my "files" share to use cache for primary storage it is still writing to the array? I thought adding a ssd cache pool outside of the protected array would allow faster speeds, am I adding the network drive to windows incorrectly or is Unraid not using the cache pool like it is supposed to? I apologize if I am getting this wrong I have been reading forums & guides but still am not getting this to work correctly.
  2. Thank you for the reply, I do not have any binding set and I only have bridging set on my eth0 1G connection. I ran iperf3 again after getting my ip address/subnets sorted out properly and iperf3 is able to almost get 10G when going from PC -> Unraid and from Synology -> Unraid. Below is the iperf log, the top test was from pc to unraid and the bottom one was from synology to unraid. So it seems iperf can get almost 10G speeds but when it comes to actually copying files I can only get 1G speed which I don’t understand. I will attach diagnostics in a separate post. actual copy speeds from my pc to synology are 300+ megabytes a second whereas from pc to unraid are around 70-80 megabytes a second.
  3. I have my PC, Synology, & Unraid all conntect to a TP Link 10G switch. My Synology & Unraid both have dedicated 10G & 1G ports, I have both NAS devices connected to the PC via the 10G switch. I ran iperf3 on all 3 devices and this is what I am coming up with. PC -> Synology +5G PC -> Unraid 1G I have verified cables work properly and nothing obvious that I can see is the issue. My Unraid which runs on a Dell R720XD has a Intel X540/I350 rNDC with 2 10G ports & 2 1G ports. I have also verified that I am connected to the actual 10G port. No matter what I try Unraid is strictly operating at 1G speeds even when trying both 10G ports.
  4. I set up a share to my synology using the 10gb ip address, then set up a share with my unraid to the 10gb ip address. I attempted to copy a files from my synology to my unraid and the speeds were about 110 MB/s. when I copy files from my pc to synology using my pc’s 10gb nic I can copy at over 300 MB/s. my unraid, synology, and pc are connected to a tp link 5 port 10gb switch. Everything in the chain is 10gb and the 10gb mic is only connected to those 3 devices. I cannot get fast transfer speeds from my unraid at all and I am at a loss why.
  5. I am hosting my unraid on a system that has 4 Ethernet ports, 2 10gbe & 2 1gbe. I have a synology that also has a 10gbe port (as well as 4 1gbe ports) that I would like to link to my unraid server via 10gbe so I can transfer files between the 2 as fast as possible. I currently have the unraid server & synology connected with their 10gbe ports to a pc via a 5 port 10gbe switch. The unraid server & synology are also connected to my main network via their 1gbe ports. I know I could mount each server to a pc and transfer files between them using windows as an intermediary but then I get reduced speeds. I set up a NFS share within unraid and was successfully able to transfer files between unraid & synology but at 1gbe speeds since I believe they are connecting via the 1gbe home network. What would be the best way to get max speeds? Is there a way to force NFS using the 10gbe port or is mounting both servers on a pc the only option?
  6. How can I transmit files from 1 folder to another in my array at fast speeds? I have successfully mapped my share as a drive in windows and can copy at 1gb speeds but I want to move files around in my array but it is copying the files at around 70 megabytes a second. when I would do this on my synology the move was instant but with Unraid it is like it is using my ethernet connections speed.
  7. I began to build my array and start my parity sync and noticed on my dashboard I get the warning "Array has 2 failed devices": When I click "Main" to view the array & hover over the parity drives I see this warning: Is this normal since the parity sync has not completed?
  8. Hey everyone! I purchased a Dell R720XD and 12 Segate Exos drives to add to my new server. I followed the Fohdeesha guide to flash my H310 controller and everything went without issue. I inserted my new drives but they are not showing on my server or unraid. When logging in with idrac and viewing my storage I am greeted with these errors attached. I also tried going into the bios to make sure AHCI is set but I do not have that option so I am kind of at a loss on what to do here. I would really appreciate any help I can get, thank you! When I run hardware diagnostics to see if the server even sees my drive I get this error:
