  1. I have had this problem for a couple months now but finally caught the cause of it, i have installed pulseway on my server using the guide from @PTRFRLL but after about 1 or 2 hours after the server boots it always fails with this error: traps: pulsewayd[9174] general protection fault ip:abb9d4 sp:1501673f8ca8 error:0 in pulsewayd[407000+713000] Looking on the forum it doesnt seem that anyone has had this issue with pulseway, but they have had it with other programs, apart from bad ram could it be the usb drive as the config file is located there? I did have a user script that just started the service every hour but I would rather try to fix the problem than put tape on it mediaserver-diagnostics-20240405-1936.zip
  2. When I updated to 6.12.9 my VM wouldnt start, so i deleted it and tried to turn VM service on then off but I got a libvirt error. I deleted and recreated the libvirt file and it started back up, but when I try to create any new VM's they dont work and the VNC cannot connect to them I have attached my diagnostics below. mediaserver-diagnostics-20240405-1632.zip
  3. Ok thank you for all your help, I will try to assign all my drives to a zfs mirror pool and assign it to the main user so all the data goes to the mirror pool once again thanks again
  4. Can i make the pool the main storage medium, so data from the cache pool is written to the Storage Pool overnight instead of the Array, I know i will loose redundancy but, I will most likely use a zfs raidz2 with 4 drives, then expand it to 8 with a vdev down the line? If i do go with raidz2 with 4 drives then add 4 more, is this 4 parity drives or 2 and if i have 4 parity drives if i went with raidz1 would it be 2? Also what would the theoretical max read be for raidz2 and raidz1? (Wirte will be 1x maximum if im correct ) According to the thread you send me, this is possible with pools, but would i even be able to start the array if the drives are assigned to pools not the array itself? Very new to this only started looking into it this monday
  5. Ok, What would be the best way to have a read speed of 2x, 3x, 4x etc (just more than 1 disk) which I can expand easily (adding 1 or 2 Drives at a time)? From what i understand it would have to be a zfs or btrfs pool (not array) in Mirrored mode (for better redundancy and expandability than raid 5 or 6), could I turn the main Array into such a Pool? Looking at the software screenshots its unclear whether i can turn the main array into a pool, or do i even need to have an array for unraid to work?
  6. Would this be 1 disks max read speed?
  7. Is this the same with read speed? as my writes will go to a 2tb nvme cache so im not worried about them? As I need in excess of 250MB/S read due to ffmpeg when going from 4k Bluray to 1080p for 1 stream
  8. Oh ok, so with an array, is the max read speed the fastest drive?
  9. Sorry I edited my responce as you replied: Just Double checking, If i want to expand the btrfs array, is it the same as zfs (if mirrored, add a drive to each mirror and if raid 5/6 add another vdev)
  10. Ok thank you, that seems promising, i will just have to test when I can get all the hardware together. Also just checking, I can make the main array ZFS or btrfs , it doesnt have to be XFS right? Also just double checking, If i want to expand the btrfs array, is it the same as zfs (if mirrored, add a drive to each mirror and if raid 5/6 add another vdev) Also on another note, are Kingston USB sticks recommended for running unraid on as i tried to virtualise it with some sandisks but they werent compatible (NO GUID) so i couldnt get it to load. Once again thanks for all the help
  11. With btrfs if I had 6 drives at 250 MB/s each with 2 parity making net capacity 4 Drives (if 8tb each, then 24TB Raw) what should the read speed be (4x?). I plan to raid 0 2 nvme 4.0 SSD’s for the cache so I don’t require write to be that high, just the read speeds.
  12. Ok thank you for letting me know, with a standard installation using the default parameters (btrfs or xfs) is there a drive read speed increase for the more drives I put in? Or is it maximum 1x read and write no matter the number of drives, as online it seems people are getting sometimes as low as 40MB/s reads and writes for a pool
  13. Is this also the case for raidZ2, In theory i could have a 2x read speed gain from 4 drives, with no write gain, and can i add more drives in the future and benefit from the (n-2) drive speed (if 5 dries 3x, etc) without destroying the pool? thanks for your help
  14. Reading some of the previous questions and documentation on ZFS in unraid, and just want to ask before I purchase, If i were to have a 2x2 disk pool of zfs mirror would this also have the same write and read speed gains as raid 10 2x2, i.e. 4x read, 2x Write?. Also would i be able to add 2 more drives to the pool at a later date to make it a 2x3 disk pool keeping the data on them intact and increasing the read / write to 6x and 3x respectively?
