  1. Thank you. Can I live without a parity drive till a new one arrives? I think I am still within return period for this disk
  2. Hello, I am pretty new to the Unraid / home server land and it has been only a month since I have setup a small PC with Unraid. My current setup is 1 Parity Drive + 1 Drive. Seagate Exos 14TB drives which I recently bought from Ebay refurbished. I was successfully able to setup Parity and everything seemed to be working fine. In the last parity sync where I enabled 'write corrections to parity' I saw a bunch of error which I did not think about too much at the time as it said that it did not find any errors But yesterday I saw that the parity disk has a smart error. Looking at the forum I ran both short and extended self-tests on the disk. Short ran fine but the extended keeps failing with 'Completed: read failure'. Looking at the attributes this is what I see: Attaching the diagnostics to the thread as well.skynetunraid-diagnostics-20240303-1954.zip I don't know what that error is and searching for the error text leads to solutions which I don't think I am able to follow within the context of unraid or formatting it. I saw one post (can't find it now as I read too many) that moving files using unbalanced somehow fixed it for them but that was on data disk so not sure if it applies to me? All the posts I see here say that I need to replace my disk. Is there no way to recover this disk? Since it is parity disk can I somehow format it and rebuild the parity? Are there any tools that can overwrite the bad sectors on the disk to help? Thanks.
