Already have Reconstruct Write on, but after disabling the SMR drive, I'm getting... well, better speeds. (the transfer started at ~120 MB/s, now doing ~70MB/s with occasional excursions as low as 25MB/s) still, a 100 GB copy taking 30min to an hour is much better than the same copy taking an estimated 10 years. I have a non-SMR drive I'll swap in for that bad Parity drive. it can live in an external enclosure going forward.

it is something simple. this is what I get for only looking at capacity while salvaging drives from work. I replaced that drive weeks ago, though. recently (within the past week or so), the speed of data transfers has fallen off a cliff. it was never exceptionally fast, but as this is primarily a media server, once the files are in place, it doesn't really matter. now I get about 5-10 seconds of the speed I would expect, then it plummets to low KB/s datarates. I haven't changed any hardware recently, and the behavior persists after rebooting. diagnostics attached. hopefully I've overlooked something simple. betelgeuse-diagnostics-20240313-0704.zip
