  1. New user and first time poster here. I’m building a computer to serve as a media server. After watching a variety of YouTube videos, Spaceinvader One’s videos, and Spaceinvader One’s ZFS article, we decided to go with a pure Zpool. I am wondering if I need a SSD cache drive(s?). Based on what I read, it seems like it is recommended to have a SSD cache for things like Plex metadata, VM’s, docker, and general download share/drive. Given we will be using a pure Zpool, what is best practice when it comes to cache drive(s)? Should I have a cache drive to serve as a dedicated download share/drive? Multiple cache drives (e.g. 1 for VM’s/docker, 1 dedicated download drive/share and Plex metadata)? Also, it seems like it is recommended to go with MLC, but I thought I read somewhere that TLC 3D NAND is also acceptable. Unfortunately, I can’t find where I read this info and would appreciate recommendations/insight on capacity and MLC vs TLC/TLC 3D NAND. There is a lot of good info out there, but I don’t know if our choice of a pure Zpool will change any of the cache advice. Thank you in advance for any advice and insight.
