  1. Thx I will give it a shot, hopefully will have time tomorrow.
  2. I am hoping someone can offer an opinion or point me to where I can go for assistance. At this point my server is not booting at all, I do not believe this has anything to do with Unraid itself, I believe it is hardware related and I am looking for opinions. I built this server approx. 6 years ago. The mother board is an Asrock Z77 professional and the CPU is an I5, I don't recall which version. It has worked without issue until this past week when I noticed it was no longer available on the network. It will power up (fans etc. run) however that is as far as it gets. There is an LED display on the motherboard which displays error codes. As the system tries to boot it will flash through some numbers, display 4F for a couple seconds and then stop at d0. From what I can find d0 is a CPU initialization failure. If that is the case am I safe to assume my CPU fried?? Or could it be something else? Thoughts on further trouble shooting or next steps are appreciated. Again I don't believe this is an Unraid issue, and if this should be posted elsewhere I appologize.
  3. It was the global share setting, and I have removed all checkboxes so All is active. The disk shares are gone and I see disk 7 and 8 in the shares list as possible drives. I also did not select there so if lists all. Thank you everyone for your help.
  4. I didn't consciously create disk shares. Was that possibly a choice when I added the disks to the array? I am at work at the moment and will take a better look based on the above comments when I get home. Ultimately I just want the data on that disk and data I move to disk 8 to be in the same user shares as the other disks. I'll post back with what I find.
  5. Here is a screenshot (my array) of my array. disk 7 and 8 were just added and I have copied disk 1 onto disk 7. Also attached screenshot of my shares page where you see disk 7 as a disk share. When I copied there were folders on for the movie and tv share. If I click on the user share TV I don't have the option to add disk 7 but I have it set to all.
  6. OK I have now moved the files but the folders now show up under disk shares not user shares. How do I combine them?
  7. I am going to move the data from an old reiserfs formated disk to an empty ifs disk. The old disk has two shares (movies and TV) as well as two additional files (.DS_Store and ,_.DS_Store). Do I need to move those two files along with the shares or just the shares? I will be using the UnBalance plugin to do the move. I have read the documentation but don't see these files mentioned anywhere.
  8. I am in the process of updating my server. I have some new drives to add and I want to add a larger parity drive. Is there any reason i can't do this at the same time? Or do I have to add the larger parity, let it rebuild, then add the new drives and rebuild parity again? Thanks in advance.
  9. No I just copied the cfg files. I will copy the other now. Thanks!
  10. I am finally getting my upgrade done and have followed the the wiki instructions here (http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Upgrading_to_UnRAID_v6). Now if I was reading correctly by copying the .cfg files (disk, ident, network, and share), it would have all the info to bring the array back online. When I restart the system the main tab has none of the disks assigned (see attachment). Is this expected? I have what they were and can reassign, I just want to make sure I am not overwriting something I should not. Thanks!
  11. I can do that. Do I need to have the format of existing drives switched before adding or will it support a mixture?
  12. I currently have a server running v 5.0-RC16C. It has been running without issue hence I never upgraded. I need to install some additional drives so figure now is the time to upgrade. I have read the wiki and a number of posts regarding the upgrade process and am still a little confused on the best way to proceed. Can I just proceed with the upgrade as outlined in the wiki or should I first upgrade to the latest version of 5, and then to version 6. Thanks in advance!
  13. Have you tried running a deep scan in Plex instead of the default turbo scan. I was having the same problem with it not scanning new additions (have not had time to figure out why), but everything works when I do a deep scan (hit the down carrot next to the refresh to choose).
  14. First off I'm an unraid noob, but here is my issue. Built a system currently has 4 drives, everything seemed to have formatted correctly and went through with no errors. I see all three data drives and the show correct sizes. I installed to shares (Movies and TV) to include all three drives and the shares show as having the combined available size. Copied files to disk1 no issue but now can't add anything to disk2 (don't have permission to read error). I can however write to disk3. I have rebooted and restarted the array and checked parity with no errors. In looking at the logs I do see the following: Aug 12 03:08:36 Tower emhttp: Mounting disks... Also when I look at Index of /mnt/user I see no disk 2 listed. So again I'm new to this. Let me know if there is more info that you need to hopefully help. Thanks
  15. So here goes, trying to make my first build, so hence my first post. I'm sure as you read this I will be accused of overbuilding this but I want to eventually use it as a media server with the ability to transcode multiple streams. So the motherboard is an Asrock Z77 professional and a core i5 cpu, 8 Mb ram. Issue is it won't boot from the usb. I downloaded the latest 5 beta per instructions. I have read the wiki and don't see anything I haven't done. When I get to the setup for the motherboard I see device options for boot. I see the 3 drives I currently have installed plus the USB: and the USB listed as a UEFI:. It defaulted to listing the 0 position hard drive then the usb and then the UEFI:. I have tried reordering listing each first to no avail. I may have gotten myself way in over my head but hopefully someone can get me pointed in the right direction. Thanks My bad I did find it in the manual finally. I'm sure I'll have more questions later!
