  1. Hello Everyone, Thank you for taking the time to read this. I am new to Unraid and would appreciate any insight you may have into the issue I am facing. The issue began during my initial data upload. Here was the series of events that lead to the issue: 1. Installed and configured unraid with 2x 8TB drives, one data, one parity. 2. Waited for parity to complete. 3. Enabled SMB, created users and shares. 4. Logged into my old file server (linux) and mounted an unraid SMB share there. 5. Began transferring files from my old server to the new one. After a while of transferring files, I noticed that file transfer appeared to be frozen. I observed this from my old server. The unraid box became unresponsive to file requests from the old server. At the time, it was transferring thousands of small files to the unraid server. So, I logged into my unraid server's web UI to see what was going on. The interface loaded but was not operating properly. All the statistics, like RW and CPU stats were not updating; they were blank or frozen at the last value. Only the network interface stats were being updated on the UI. After troubleshooting for a bit, and trying to find useful info in the log files, I decided to restart the server from the UI. I was not able to. The shutdown and reboot buttons appeared to do nothing. After waiting for a long while I powered down by holding the power button. When I booted unraid again, everything was working, but parity needed to be rebuilt. So I waited for that to complete before doing anything else. The server works again, but I am concerned that the issue will repeat itself when I begin transferring all those small files again. So I have put that off for now. I should also mention that the unraid machine and drives are new, everything except the memory, which I have tested thoroughly with memtest and it is working properly without errors. The filesystem is XFS. Has anyone experienced this kind of failure with small files? Is there a known reason? Thanks again!
