My build (signature) was pretty cheap, around 110$ for MB/CPU/Ram. For PSU a Corsair Builder 430W would be nice.

Array is now starting during boot. Seems to be working great, flying through parity test at ~95MB/Sec. Will post syslog when it's done (<6hrs for 13TB of parity protected data).

Getting 53.8mb/sec parity sync on this release. One issue is I can't get "flash" share to actualy export syslog_fred.txt

I noticed this too. My first solution was just to copy directory to hard drive, somehow like this: cp -r /boot/custom/transmission/transmission.conf /mnt/disk2/share/torrents/ and then simply edit script /boot/custom/transmission/transctl, variable TRANSCONF to point to the new location (remember to use CR-LF safe editor) This worked, but I was not satisfied becuase 90% time my NAS is only seeding and this writes keep my parity drive spun up. So I made additional transctl script: added copying transmission.conf to /tmp before start and copy back to hard driver on transmission stop. And new TRANSCONF value point to /tmp/transmission.conf. Good luck ! I used the first step only since I am using my cache disk for torrents and it worked perfectly. When I noticed this thread and checked my Flash drive status in MyMain it already had hundreds of thousands writes for 4 days uptime, and I've been using this package for a long time so it definatly got millions hits from this. At least now it's fixed! Thanks for the tip.

After transferring 1,5tb (all verified with Teracopy), activating the parity disc, and doing 3 parity checks while getting files in/out, I must say this looks promising. I just added a third 1,5tb (WD Green) and it's being cleared right now.

Hi to everyone, Last night I moved my WHS hardware in a Norco RPC-470 case and got Unraid running in minutes. I only have 2 brand new 5900rpm Seagate 1.5tb discs installed for the moment. It's transferring data so smoothly I'm impressed. I was used to WHS transfer speed crawling down sometimes, but I moved 350gb to the server (53mb/sec average) and verified (59mb/sec average) with Teracopy and no error showed up. I now feel this could stream blu-ray rips to my media player. I keep my finger crossed as I know NF4 and 5900rpm seagates are dreaded. Oh on the good side, I'ts using a 650W corsair. Once it's neatly cabled I'll keep post updated with pictures and proceed with more testing. I just had to try this motherboard before getting another, as it has 8 sata ports and it served me good as a WHS for the past 2 years. Fred p.s.: this disk/case combo is running very cool.
