  1. I am using Unraid 6.1.9. It was working highly efficiently until I replaced a damaged Parity Drive and after performing parity, replacing a drive with a Bad Clusters. Now, my shares are not showing at all (empty) and the Green Shield is not there anymore. It has been replaced by a Blue one. Any help will be appreciated. I am attaching my diagnostic ZIP file. I have read another thread on this topic but solution seemed not to be related. I am using no ADD Blockers... TIA htserver-diagnostics-20160429-1502.zip
  2. Is there a way to disable SF 1.0.11 without deleting it all. I used version 1.0.5 and it worked flawlessly; now, with this new version, I am getting glitches and sudden stops during playback of high bit-rate files. I traced it to Simple Features 1.0.11. I will wait for the upcoming revision ...
  3. Moved away from RealTek NICs and onto Intel. Ever since, no issues and smooth cruising... I want nothing to do with issues on the server I keep my stuff. RC10 is working great...
  4. Until recently, I have to say years, my server was going into Sleep Mode with no issues at all. The script I was using had been working with no changes ever since early Beta versions of 5.0. It just so happened that a 2 or 3 weeks back, power went out and my UPS could not hold it. I guess the battery was just about to give up... Now it is replaced... Well, lo and behold, after bringing the system back online, I had a bad parity disk. I replaced the drive immediately with a new 3TB 7200RPM Seagate unit I found on sale. Parity was back but now the server will not go into sleep. I have checked the log and they do spin down precisely as scheduled. I read the log and see no errors. I checked the BIOS and found that the BIOS clock was off for about 3 hours... don't know if that would make a difference but I corrected the issue and changed the CMOS battery. Still no resolve. I tried version 5.0 RC8a, RC6a, RC5 and so on.... no resolve... Any ideas will be welcomed... Again, the log is clean with no issues... BH
  5. This is by far the best Control Screen Set-Up I have seen. It has tools galore... So far, my testing has been very rewarding. Kudos...!
  6. I second this motion... My Test Server with UnRaid 5.0_beta2 works great. I upgraded it to 5.0_beta3 and no longer does it show the IDE drives. All SATA are there but no IDE. Downgraded to 5.0_beta2 and all is perfect again. Good thing is only a test server...
  7. Thanks... Now it makes more sense... I will most likely change the MB for a different one... No issue... Thanks...
  8. I am installing an ECS A740GM-M mainboard. It all works good but I can not get the Realtek RTL8103EL LAN card to speed up to 1000. I have tried forcing it manually by typing "ethtool -s eth0 speed 1000" with no positive results. When I query it with "ethtool eth0" it posts support for 10/100 but if I visit the card manufacturer or the Mainboard manufacturer, it is posted as an 10/100/1000 card. I think this is a driver issue but I rather have some of you more experienced guys give me a hint.\ Help will be very much appreciated...
  9. I am pleased to hear that ... I am running version 5.0 beta 2 with no issues. I will be moving very soon to the paid version... I have waited to see how all of the HELP and FEEDBACK went along as much as the support from the community. I have to say that things work around here much better than in the outside world... Thanks... In other thoughts... Could it be possible to include the date that the post was added. It can help determine how mature is the post and how long it has been tested in the community without having to go to any other page... Changes from 4.6-rc5 to 4.6 (final) 12-6-2010 -------------------------------------------------------- Just a suggestion...
  10. Question...? Is this an implementation of something that will not see the light in UnRaid or is this something been built to supplement and later on be ready to integrate into UnRaid...? It is a very useful app...!
  11. All of this opinions back and forth are for the better of pras1011 . He wins...! Thanks guys...
  12. So a good starting point would be: 3 EARS: 1 PARITY = 2TB 1 CACHE = 2TB (HOT SPARE) 1 DATA = 2TB (waiting for future needs to grow)
  13. bcbgboy13: I respect your point of view but your opinion is based on the fact that you expect the equipment manufacturers to deliver... that is not the case. I have been to HP (2.) manufacturing facilities (very close to home) for a few projects. A few acquaintances over there have a different opinion if you take into consideration that profit and quality are facts that go together. If you state that (1.) it is virtually painless to replace your MB..., how much time do you have in your hands... I look forward to a system that goes forever, if possible, and needs no intervention. I have been there with cheap MB and it is not a delicacy to bring your system down and replace a malfunctioning MB. Also, the added cost piles up where you could have started with a good one for starters... The fact that (3.) upgrades will have you move over to new hardware is a no brainier. Remember that you started with a system (MB) that was compliant and fast enough. Only future speed (SATAIII) will be a need when you are forced into it or have the desire to spend (taking into account that a good MB will last "forever"). With all due respect...
  14. Case closed... It is good to have your input... It is Green Drives... I will get my new set of EARS and become a happy camper... Thanks...
  15. I am inclined to pay a little more for a good, good, good motherboard. After all, it is the part that has to last. Everything will be connected to it and from it... I have seen to many failures from leaked capacitors on cheap boards... My suggestion, if you don't have the money and it cost a bit more, wait and save... you will only thank yourself for years of trouble free enjoyment. Cheaper, most of the time last less and good, long lasting boards have and added cost... 2 cents...
  16. OK... I see a line here... Giving away the Black HDD's idea, what about Blue Drives for Parity and Cache and Green EARS for DATA...?
  17. After testing and building, I have come to the junction where I will go for the drives... I know that the PARITY drive should be fast and the biggest... I know that the CACHE drive does not have to be as big but at least as big as the biggest upload I tend to make... I know that the DATA drives have to be good and Power Savers... My personal ideas (which are open to suggestions and critics) are: WD SATAII BLACK 2TB for PARITY drive WD SATAII BLACK 500GB for CACHE drive WD SATAII BLUE or GREEN 2TB for DATA I want to keep power down without sacrificing performance TOO MUCH... Longevity will be a plus... and temperature management too...! So, what do you people recommend...? HIT ME...!

    Broken USB

Happened to me. I could not figure a way out after trying everything... Personally, I copied the important settings from it (using Linux) and started again by formatting and recreating. It is working again... I blame it on some testing I was doing mixed with starting up and shutting down and removing the PenDrive while the system was Running... Will never do it again... 2 Cents...
  19. At first, it was... later, I thought that would be the reason and deleted all of it... Even then, I could not delete the "share".
  20. Great detail Joe L.... which stresses the point of being very careful when determining your PS unit. I have had many issues with equipment being under_performing because of a badly designed power distribution and/or calculation of needed power. All this info will make it easier for "nojstevens"
  21. I am no MASTER... but here are my 2 cents... * Go to WD website and download their tool.... Do a ZERO fill... ( This tool will let you know if there are errors... It takes a long time so you might want to leave it for last (or NOT) * Make sure that your power supply can handle the load of the four drives... (4 drives at at SPIN-UP should equal 4amps *3.5 * 4 = 56amps at peak...)(Get a good & stable PSUnit.) * Distribute the load of the drives in different rails of the Power Supply unit. (Make sure you do not start adding extra extensions to ONE rail...) * As was said before..., verify seating of the cables and connections... * At boot, make sure that the drives are recognized correctly by the BIOS and also make sure that all settings within the BIOS are correct for the drives. * Make sure DMA transfers are enabled in the BIOS (READ, READ, READ) * Also, make sure that the drives options (such as caching and speed ) are not turned off by switches or software... ( remember MS was around.) * Make sure that the controller card firmware is up to date to handle those drives... ( WD Green's are new stuff ) If this is not enough... *Take every drive by itself and do a pre-installation of UnRaid, by itself in another system. If everything goes well, you have your killer; if not you also got your killer... This last one should point you to a bad MB or controller card or anything specific to your setup. Remember that you will not damage any other system you test your drives on since you will be booting from FLASH. Go test somewhere else to verify for faulty HW. The pointers I give you simply look for things that one might oversee. Good luck... I'll keep reading your post...
  22. No... the volume name was simply...: "DATA" (no quotes)... It makes no sense to me and I bet even more to you... but if it gets to complicated... don't worry... you already helped me fixing it... Thanks...
  23. Thank You... It worked like a charm... If you have the time, why is it that this happened... I could create a new share and delete it but this specific one would simply not budge...! Thanks in advance...
  24. I created a Share (DATA) for testing purposes on UnRaid 5.0Beta2. I have not been able to delete the share no matter what I do... Any suggestions or is this a bug. It is a testing server so any option is counted in... Thanks...
