  1. Upgrading 2x WDC WD10EACS to 2x WDC WD20EARX Method: - First Parity-Check - Upgrade/Rebuild - Second Parity-Check # Disk 1 First Parity-Check: No errors Upgrade/rebuild without errors Second Parity-Check: Finding 6 errors I just ignored this and moved on to the second disk # Disk 2 First Parity-Check: No errors Upgrade/rebuild without errors Second Parity-Check: Finding 7 errors Both times the errors appeared within the first second after starting the second Parity-Check Does this mean that the rebuild failed in some way or is it something else? RAM is good (48 hours of Memtest) and I get no Parity-Check errors after writing 1 TB + of data to the new disks
  2. Thanks! Just replaced the disk and rebuild started.

  4. Server disabled disk 3 while my movie scrapper was updating nfo-files (on all disks). Reiserfsck on disk3 returned no errors and no SMART errors. Can it be a controller going bad on me? This was yesterday and since then I had to hard reboot two times cause the machine stopped responding. In unmenus syslog-viewer I can see a couple of red areas. Please can anyone tell me what to do. Syslog attached syslog-2011-12-04.txt
  5. Thanks for the fast answer. And thanks for myMain!! I will replace thoose disks asap.
  6. Could you guys give me some advice on this one? Time to replace some disks? If so, can I swap them (1TB/2TB) out for WD10/20EARS disks without problems?
  7. There is now a separate installable package for the disk drive overtemp shutdown of the unRAID server. I made it a separate package so it could perform its check every 5 minutes rather than once an hour. - If you have the "powerdown" package developed by WeeboTech, it will use it. - If you do not, and you have a recent version of unRAID with its version of "powerdown" it will use it and if the array is not stopped after 5 minutes it will force a poweroff after attempting to stop the array. - If you have an older version of unRAID, it will attempt to stop the server cleanly and then use the poweroff command. There is a configuration variable for an early "Warning" message threshold temperature and a separate "Overtemp Shutdown" threshold. There is also a variable to set the e-mail address to send those alerts. Use the check-for-updates button on the user-scripts page to get the new package. Have fun. It looks like this: Joe L. Fantastic!!! Thanks again for all the effort you have put into unMENU.
  8. Is there a way to let unraid_notify-2.5.5 make use of the unMENU package for the powerdown add-on instead of the powerdown supplied by lime-tech? Just entering powerdown seems to default to the one supplied by lime-tech.
  9. Great!! Yes, I think one temp for warning and another one for shutdown should cover.
  10. Great work with the new unMENU. I'm still using v1.2 and will update today. I have one question though: Are the unRAID Status Alert package (or another package) able to run the Power down script (http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=Powerdown_script) when the temperature (on any disk) exceeds a user configurable value. I use unraid_notify that is able to do that now.
  11. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=3391.0 Does 4.5-beta2 solve this issue?
  12. # Choose the critical disk temp. (in celsius) that will cause unraid_notify to execute an external # command (like powerdown - see: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=Powerdown_script ) CriticalDiskTemp = 37 CriticalDiskCommand = powerdown This should power down my machine when 37 C is reached right? Does not work if a file is open (like watching a video file). I guess I'm doing something wrong. The powerdown script is installed and working when executed manually with "powerdown" trough telnet. # Choose the maximum temp. (in celsius) a disk may get before an error will message will be sent. MaxDiskTemp = 30 This does send me an email though. Values set low just for testing...
  13. Thanks for the fast reply!! gawk: ./990-unmenu-wget.awk:41: warning: escape sequence `\.' treated as plain ` .' gawk: ./990-unmenu-wget.awk:538: fatal: can't open two way socket `/inet/tcp/0/s lackware.cs.utah.edu/80' for input/output (No such file or directory) ...when trying to download cxxlibs-6.0.8-i486-4.tgz with the package manager I'm running latest unmenu and unRAID 4.4beta2. EDITED: Sorry! Upgrading to 4.4beta2 wiped my DNS adresses. Everything works now!
  14. I'm trying to download the required packages for myMain to run on unRAID 4.4beta2. But when clicking on download in the package manager I just get a blank html page with a few letters: Example: e </BODY></HTML> 0 Any ideas why?
  15. Anyone who knows if the chassi used is a Lian Li PC-A17B (as in the text) or a PC-K12B (as in the picture)?
  16. Thanks for all tips. I've asked the guy with that massive 48TB build if the case will work with regular SATA controllers. To NAS: Yes, please post results!
  17. I'm buying this one: http://www.norenproducts.com/Acoustilock/24td.html It will house my HTPC, unRAID server, a Onkyo 905 A/V receiver and a Buttkicker power amp. I'm using a big Lian Li PC-V2110 + 2x Deltaco 5-in-3 SNT-3051SAS for my unRAID server right now (15x Western Digital WD10EACS 1TB). Now I'm planning to buy one of the following configurations: -- 1 -------------------------------------- 4U rack case with 9x 5.25 bays http://www.servercase.com/miva/miva?/Merchant2/merchant.mv+Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SC&Product_Code=RA466&Category_Code=4UA + Another Deltaco 5-in-3 SNT-3051SAS (total 3 of them) -- 2 -------------------------------------- Lian Li PC-A17B http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=6591 + Another Deltaco 5-in-3 SNT-3051SAS (total 3 of them) -- 3 -------------------------------------- Chenbro RM41416T2 16 bays http://www.digiconcepts.com/chenbro_cases_11.htm -- 4 -------------------------------------- Supermicro 846TQ-R900B 24 bays http://www.supermicro.com/products/chassis/4U/846/SC846TQ-R900.cfm #1 Would be great if I could find this case in Sweden. But it seems like I'm out of luck on this one. #2 Not sure it will fit (laying down on its side) in standard 19" rack width. #4 I think I will go with this one because this would allow me to add more drives when (if) Tom will raise the current limit. But I'm not sure the backplanes supports regular SATA connections. I've read trhough the manual and it seems like there is no such option. I also read that this one is really noisy. Not sure this is a problem as it will be mounted in a Noise reduction cabinet. Please give me input and other suggestions on cases I might have missed.
  18. This would be very good for security! I hope features like this can be included in 4.3.
  19. Im about to build a new unRAID server. 1x Intel Celeron 440 2GHz 1x ASUS P5B-VM DO 2x Corsair Value S. PC4200 DDR2 512MB CL4, 533MHz 2x Promise SATA300 TX4 1x Lian-Li PC-A16B chassi 3x Supermicro CSE-M35S 5-in-3 backplane 1x Corsair Powersupply 600W 15x WD GP WD10EACS 1TB Will this be a good config? Does thoose Supermicro backplanes fit in the Lian-Li chassi (read somewhere that some backplanes can't be mounted in this chassi)? Power supply good enough? A fan died in my old chassi (no backplane used..drives mounted internally) and caused 2 drives to overheat... Is there a way to have a unRAID server shut down when a fan or disk dies? (I already have some parts saved from my old unRAID server)
