  1. Did you ever get the GPU version to work for more than a few minutes? I have both CPU and GPU versions working but only the CPU version seems to stable for me too.
  2. limetech, Any update on this? Is the next update going to address the read/write performance issue? Thanks
  3. Actually, I did some more detailed file transfer testing and that's exactly what I see. I guess it's filling up the cache memory during the first minute or so on my Unraid server (1 GB RAM). I've seen transfer rate as high as 50MB/s during this time on my GigE network. The interval I see after the initial burst is random. The peaks and vallies have different duration for me.
  4. Yup, pretty much like that. Longer intervals on my GigE connection. Sometimes it will stay bottomed out for up to 10 secs at a time. Anyone know if this issue is going to be fixed in the upcoming release of the Unraid software? Not being able to use my Unraid server for PVR files (since I can't read/write at the sametime without these transfer pauses) is hard to accept. Something so basic as being able to read/write at the sametime should be a top priority in the next software update.
  5. When I copy files to my Unraid server, I get these huge peaks and valleys in write transfer rate over my GigE network. I'll get 30+ MB/s for about 1-3 seconds and it drops to zero for about the same about of time and this cycle repeats over and over again until the file copy is complete. When I'm doing any sort of writes, I can't use the Unraid server for video playback since the video keeps freezing everything the write transfer goes to zero. (The video is being played back from a different disk that's on a different controller or channel) Rebooting the Unraid server does not help. I'm using the same hardware as the Complete Unraid server that's sold by LT but with 1GB of RAM and only 8 drives. Any idea what can be causing this? Thanks.
  6. FYI... http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2002-October/053271.html I found this issue with my system. When I copy files to the UnRAID system the files are visable but if I reboot the UnRAID system the files I copied show up as hidden to any Windows system that access the samba share on my UnRAID server. The smb.conf needs to have the default create mask to be set without the execution bit.
  7. I know how to enable the SATA port... how do I use the SATA port within UnRAID?
  8. How do I enable the use of the 2 onboard SATA ports on the D865GLCLK motherboard with UnRAID?
  9. Thanks but I'm building my own UnRAID server so "top bay" doesn't mean anything to me. So is the "top bay" drive 1 of the onboard IDE controller, channel 1? If so, can I change that to say drive 1 of the onboard SATA controller channel 1 in my case? I want UnRAID OS to use the hard drive I specify as parity. Is that possible?
  10. Does UnRaid allow the selection of the parity drive of my choosing or does it only use the first drive on the first IDE channel on the MB?
  11. Hello, What kernel version does the UnRAID OS use? Does it have support for the Silicon Image 3114 4-port SATA HBA?
