  1. thanks for the reply's, I went back to the old board and upgraded up to 5 and then moved it to the new board and everything seems to be working with one problem. I keep getting permission errors with some of my folders. When I run the new permissions utility the window pops up and it shows it is working on disk 1, then the close button comes up and it never seems to get to the other 4 data drives. It has been like this for 2 days and all of the drives have spun down so it doesn't look like it is doing anything. I still have the permission issues, what am I doing wrong here, any ideas? thanks,
  2. Thanks, I realize that 4.6 doesn't support 4tb drives which is why my current array is all 2 tb drives. I was planning on adding the 4tb parity drive after I upgraded to 4.7 and then 5.0 so that I could then add 4 additional 4tb drives to expand my existing unraid. Will I be able to upgrade to 4.7 and then 5 using the new motherboard or do I need to go back to the old one and move to the new after I get it upgraded? thanks again, Wes
  3. OK, needed to replace and upgrade my motherboard. Got the Supermicro x10sl7, put it in, hooked up the drives and now unraid doesn't appear to be starting. per IPMI the last message I get is Welcome to Linux 2.6.32.9-unraid and it asks for my tower login, which I put in. I the get "root@tower:~#" and that is it. I cannot see tower in my browser. I am running Unraid 4.6 and was going to upgrade to 4.7 and then 5 once I got it running(starting with a new 4tb parity drive). could it be that 4.6 doesn't support the nic? or What did I screw up or forget to do? thanks, Wes
