  1. I recently joined the Plex Cloud Beta program and want to set my unraid to either upload or sync (preferably) a share or directory with amazon Cloud storage. I have a completely unmetered internet connection and unlimited storage on Amazon. I can't see any obvious way to get unraid to connect directly to amazon Cloud, which doesn't seem to support ftp. I would prefer not to have to have to transfer files via a mounted share on a PC. I did consider installing Chrome in Docker and doing it through a web page, but I must admit I find installing Docker stuff a bit mysterious... Can anyone advise? Thanks in advance.
  2. Thanks for the replies, and thanks also for moving the post jonp! It is running as a plugin. Someone on the Plex forums suggested it might be a startup bug in latest version of PMS, and suggested moving to an older version. I've tried the oldest 64bit version (which is not that old at all - 3/4 weeks I think), but that made no difference. I tend to think that afc might be right and that it is a permissions problem. I know next to nothing about Linux permissions and would be very grateful if someone could show me some example commands. What is further puzzling me is that today I did a complete Unraid reinstall. I had been planning to do it for some time, and so did it now in the hopes it might also solve my Plex problem; it did not... When reinstalling it I only copied my pro key plus disk.cfg, ident.cfg, network.cfg and share.cfg. Would any of these files contain information that might affect Plex working? Thanks in advance.
  3. Sorry, just realised this was posted in the wrong section! Can someone move it for me please?
  4. Hi. I've been using PMS for a long time with no problems whatsoever. Yesterday however, after a reboot of my Unraid box Plex has failed to start at all. I am using Unraid 6.0-beta9, which I updated from beta8 yesterday, to see if that fixed things. I am also using PlexMediaServer-0.9.10.1.585. The PMS configuration page in Unraid shows Plex as Stopped, and both the input boxes for the directories are blank. If I try to put anything in the directory boxes, nothing happens when I click 'Apply' If I hit 'Done' and go back into the PMS settings page, the boxes are blank again. The Unraid log after reboot is as follows: /usr/bin/tail -f /var/log/syslog 2>&1 Sep 22 10:34:06 Tower avahi-daemon[1880]: Files changed, reloading. Sep 22 10:34:06 Tower avahi-daemon[1880]: Service group file /etc/avahi/services/afp.service changed, reloading. 5. Hi. See log here: http://pastebin.com/SGvTNJhB Thanks
  6. I am having a problem with my new cache drive. Unraid keeps disabling it. i've checked the logs, but to honest it might as well be written in Sanskrit... I would be really grateful if someone could give me some hints in interpreting what it all means... 7. I would be grateful if someone could verify that my planned upgrade procedure is correct, before I do something I'll regret... I'm about to upgrade my unRAID hardware. My server has been running almost continually since 2008, and I think it deserves some TLC. So, I will be moving 13 drives to a shiny new 16 bay xcase rackmount case. I'm also taking the opportunity to upgrade the cpu to an 8 core AMD 8320, which will be running my Plex server. I am also going to add a 64GB SSD cache drive. My plan is to note the position of all the drives in the array before removing them. Once the new server hardware is all set up, I intend to plug in the USB drive and boot up the server. Then I'll just re-assign the drives in the unRAID gui in same order they were in on the old hardware. Is this the correct procedure? Will the USB drive just work in the new environment? Thanks in advance.
  8. Can anyone please point me to a working link for this plugin?
  9. Having done a bit of Googling I notice that "hotplug_status" exceptions are frequently mentioned along with the Promise TX4 sata card, which I am using. However, Promise TX4 sata cards can hardly be considered 'untested' in Unraid! I actually have two TX4 cards and have tested my system with both and still get the exception with both. I am intending to swap the card out for a different one with a sil3114 chipset, but I'm having a bitch of time upgrading the firmwre on that one so that it will actually boot.
  10. I've just installed a new Corsair VX550W power supply and replaced all the sata connectors with new locking ones. I am still getting errors in my syslog. Can anyone shed any light on this? 11. Thanks Rob, I'll dig out another psu and see if that helps. Currently it has a Thermaltake Toughpower 750w (http://www.thermaltake.com/PRODUCT/Power/ToughPower/W0116/w0116.asp). I am running five drives off each of the two sata rails, which are rated at 18A each. So, on the face of it the psu should have ample capacity, unless it's faulty.
  12. I'm experiencing multiple errors, and Unraid doesn't seem able to unmount the drives. The syslog is full of exceptions and errors. I've been experiencing drive errors on and off for a few months now, and I recently replaced all of the power and sata cables with lockable ones. When the problems persisted, I thought there problem might have been a fault with the two Promise TX4 sata cards, but this time the errors seem to be across all drives, including those connected directly to the motherboard. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Syslog is here: http://pastebin.com/m5a626f87
  13. I've been having ongoing problems with my Unraid for a number of months now. It seems to be one problem after another. I'm getting quite disheartened by it all. A few days ago I had a drive show up with errors and turn red in the Disk status page. I tried unnassigning it, rebooting and then ressigning it, but the rebuild failed. I had another 1.5tb drive handy that I had been intending to stick in to increase the size of the array, so I put it in as the replacement. As soon as I assigned the new drive, everything slowed down (including the web interface). The first rebuild attempt took 2 days to get to 40% before failing. Subsequent attempts have failed almost straight away. I had two sata cards in my machine, with two drives on each. I wondered if one of them might have been faulty, and so took the one with the failing drive on it out, and put those two drives onto the remaining card. This didn't improve matters. The syslog can be viewed here: http://pastebin.com/m4f06c9fe I love Unraid, and it's been the heavily used centre of my home network for quite some time now. Unfortunately, I know very little about how it actually works, and as my stored data creeps towards 8tb I become more and more nervous of doing something catastrophic... Thanks in advance for any help.
  14. Do you mean a syslog in addition to the one I linked to in my first post? I have since restarted the parity sync and (so far) it seems to be behaving normally. The most up to date (since restarting the parity sync) syslog is here: http://pastebin.com/m7dc5a899
