  1. I have been trying to get unraid to work in a virtual machine, instead of the other way around. There is an option in vmware server to give the virtual machine an entire disk, so I gave my machine all my unraid disks. I was able to get the virtual machine to boot from the usb drive and I thought I was golden, but there were issue with the ram disk and the /boot never mounted and therefore could not read the .conf files (network.config) for example.
  2. yea. I was looking at the .config included in unraid: CONFIG_X86_64 is not set CONFIG_RESOURCES_64BIT is not set That's a start, but it would be some trial and error until I compiled the Kernel with everything I need. I probably will swap out the mobo/cpu, not for a while, however. Anyone out there offer any insight into this AMD64 situation?
  3. I have an AMD64 and it's giving me nothing but trouble installing packages. (see my comments on Twonky). I'm not sure if it's worth it to me to invest more time in the AMD64 (recompile kernel with http://www.slamd64.com/ maybe?). It's definitely unchartered waters. I will probably wind up switching out my mobo/cpu at some point. I have a spare box that I'm going to bring up a windows server or ubuntu, and go from there. Lessen learned, if you want to play around with packages don't get an AMD64, otherwise unraid seems to work fine.
  4. I am working my way through torrentflux right now. I think it would be a really good fit with unraid, looks like a real nice product. It needs apache, mysql and python, however. It's getting there. I'll keep you posted.
  5. Looking at the Twonkymedia install file, I found: If you are running a Debian distribution on a 64 bit architecture, it is possible that you need to install the 32 bit compatibility libraries. In this case invoke: "apt-get install ia32-libs" also, http://www.twonkyforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3850&p=14872&hilit=libgcc#p14872 suggests the same thing. I have an AMD 64bit processor installed... I downloaded the ia32-libs_2.2_amd64.deb file onto my flash drive, BUT how do I install a .DEB? Thanks again
  6. Seems like pretty straight forward directions, I decided to give it a shot. Twonky doesn't load, it keeps saying TwonkyMedia Vision 4.4.4 libgcc_s.so.1 must be installed for pthread_cancel to work. I'm using unraid 4.3 beta 3. Thanks
