  1. Just an FYI - something with Rsync appears to be broken in the newest version. I had rsync running fine from version 4.4.2 - when I upgraded to 4.5b6 it found the host, but would not copy. I put the old version back on the flash drive, rebooted & viola - worked again. I am using DeltaCopy and syncing from a Windows server. I have a lot to do today - but will try to do more diagnostics later...
  2. This may be OT enough that I need to take it to another forum - but I've wondered that before. We have about 25 million files currently on one server under one share that spans 14 disks. Is this too taxing for the memory? Is it holding all the shortcuts in ram - we currently have 4GB....
  3. Maybe I'm going crazy. After a half hour of waiting, I tried the stop button. It stopped the array and on restart all the drives showed up. Will be downgrading after that scare
  4. HELP!!!! I hope this is the right place to post this. I recently upgraded our lime box to 4.5-beta6. Things seemed to work fine - but while doing a massive delete, (4TB\5,000,000 files)ish - I would get an error saying the lime box, (lime1) was no longer available. I was running a rmdir commend from the command prompt. When it did this - I could no longer ping the lime box. After about 10 seconds of waiting, it would come back up so I would just restart it. I finished the delete, and was working a backup of about 1TB to the freed space. At some point, it quit responding. This time it didn't come back up. Going to the web front end - it is showing all of my drives - except the parity & disk1 as unformatted. I am attaching a log file. I've tried to stop the array - and won't stop, other wise I would've tried rebooting it. I sure hope somebody can help me with this...[ftp=ftp://ftp.kellpro.com/pub/syslog.txt]ftp://ftp.kellpro.com/pub/syslog.txt[/ftp]
  5. I use unraid to back up about 15,000,000 image files. It works great. It took me over a week to do my initial backup. Now, I backup nightly in a few hours.
  6. I currently have about 500GB of my movies on an external hard drive. I burned all DVD's to ISO images. I can watch the movies with VLC media player. I am currently contemplating building a media pc to hook up to my TV. But, does anybody know of a simple, cheap way of getting my movies to my TV without another computer?
  7. What program are you currently using Currently trying robocopy...but it takes days. I'm trying SyncBackSE, I think my bottleneck is scanning the lime machine. Since my files should never change on my backup box, the fast backup from SyncBackSE might speed it up. I'll try it. Thanks for the recommendations.
  8. I a looking for a fast way to backup to unraid. We got a limebox and maxed it out. I'm trying to backup about 5TB, or 3,000,000 images to the limebox, and run an incrimental backup each night to backup anything new, and overwrite anything that has changed. This takes days to do...is there any type of backup program out there that compares directory sizes, and backs up based off of that vs doing a full file scan?
  9. I'm looking at using this for a backup solution... We have a Windows network, how easy is it to set this thing up on it? How often is it you have to tinker with it? Is it something I can plug in, set up, and never mess with again?
