  1. Hi. Is anyone else having problems accessing the main Lime Technology web pages, or is it just me ? WiKi and Forums ok but 404 everywhere else Pete
  2. Once I have the scripts perfected on my live box. I will post them on here Pete
  3. Hi Les Yes we get about the forums don't we Funnily enough I have until recently still been using an old Buffalo linkstation for Firefly. But since I have been using unRAID and XBMC for nearly two years thought maybe I had better have go with Firefly on it. It was one of your posts that pointed me in the right direction. I run 2 instances on the box actually, for Classical and Popular Music Libraries. But always found it a bit of a pain to kill the processes manually before I could stop the array. I haven't implemented the code on my live box yet, but have tested it a lot on a virtualbox unraid machine. Nice to hear from you again Les. Regards Pete
  4. Hello Joe. Just been having a play with your scripts, and thought you would like to know that I have my virtual system doing exactly what I want now. auto starts Firefly after array start, and auto stops before array stop when clicked on from the webgui. Brilliant, thanks very much. Pete
  5. Thanks for taking the time to reply Joe. Things are a little clearer now. I will try it out on my virtual machine when I get the chance and let you know how I get on.
  6. Thanks for your reply Joe. I am looking into this again now. I am a bit of a newbie however when it comes to linux etc. So am finding it a little hard to grasp. I can understand basic commands and simple scripts but find some extremely confusing. Have you edited rc.unRAID then to prevent it from stopping the array ?. I am finding it a bit difficult to fully understand the full sequence of events. Regards Pete
  7. Hi all. I wonder if anyone can help. I have installed as an addon the Firefly mt-daapd package. However I have an issue now where I cannot stop the array from the webgui, until the mt-daapd processes are stopped. webgui simply shows "Stopping..." continually, and the syslogs tell me that the disk which firefly is using cannot be unmounted this is of course what I suspected. By stopping Firefly in its own webgui first (or manually killing its process), The stop button in unRAID's gui functions normally. I have weebotech's Powerdown script hooked into the power button, this all works ok since it is able to stop firefly first. My question is this... Is there a way of editing a file which the webgui uses to shutdown the array ? I dont seem to be able to find any source files for emHTTP is this because it is all just built into one file ? Issuing the "/etc/rc.d/rc.unRAID stop" command from the console does shutdown the array cleanly. I am simply trying to avoid the need to stop Firefly first (from its own webgui) before being able to stop the array from unRAID's webgui. Does this make sense ? Can I explain it any simpler ? I would like to be able to "hook" into the "STOP ARRAY" button on the webgui I have attached a screen shot of the syslog from the console of my virtual test machine showing the continual retrys to unmount the disk. Once I have a solution I will then consider making the change to my live server (which is running headless) Pete
  8. Very nice I myself built my first Unraid server about 1 month ago. I opted for the small footprint Chenbro ES34069 chassis http://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=42 Originally I fitted a GIGABYTE GA-D525TUD motherboard. It worked really well. However I read so many excellent reports about the Supermicro board, plus the fact that it supports the wide range of indicators available on the Chenbro case, I just had to find one. This wasnt easy being in the UK. However I tracked down a supplier, and took delivery of the X7SPA HF D525 board just the other day. If anyone is interested, I bought it from here. http://www.the-it-department.co.uk/index.html I did the transplant into my unraid server yesterday. I am totally impressed with this board, All I had to do was rearrange the disks in my array, and it all went well. I love the BMC controller on this board, since my unraid is running headless, it gives full control of the box from any pc on the network. This board is thoroughly recommended. Pete
  9. Hi Brainbone. Many thanks for your reply. I will try these suggestions later today. I know the smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk port 25 address does work. Because I also have a synology NAS box which emails a daily backup report log to me using this address. What interests me is this < 451 Invalid Smtp line - Should end with CRLF 451 Invalid Smtp line - Should end with CRLF which is listed right at the end of the unraid_notify -d output which I posted above. It would appear that the system was connecting and authenticating ok, but that there was some problem with the email content. Are there any other email utilities that I can use ? I am only really interested in being emailed regarding errors with the RAID system (ie drive failure etc) I don't need regular system information being emailed. Regards Pete
  10. Hi Can anyone help with this. I am still unable to get my system to send any emails using this notify script Thanks Pete
  11. Hello Sorry to Hijack into this thread. I wonder if someone can help me. I have just completed a new server build, and am trying to get email notifications working. I am unable to get any mails sent from my unraid box. When performing an "unraid_notify -d" this is the output root@UPYMS001:~# unraid_notify -d > < 220 smtp141.mail.ukl.yahoo.com ESMTP > EHLO UPYMS001 < 250 8BITMIME > AUTH LOGIN < 334 VXNlcm5hbWU6 > < 334 UGFzc3dvcmQ6 > WjFsbDNydGFs < 235 OK, go ahead > MAIL FROM: <*****.*******@yahoo.co.uk> < 250 OK , completed > RCPT TO: <*****.*******@yahoo.co.uk> < 250 OK , completed > DATA < 354 Start Mail. End with CRLF.CRLF > . < 451 Invalid Smtp line - Should end with CRLF 451 Invalid Smtp line - Should end with CRLF Note that I have replaced my email address with *'s I have also attached my cfg file to this post All passwords and addresses have naturally been removed. unraid_notify.cfg
  12. Thanks for the thoughts so far. Jamerson9 That is what I think may happen too. My array drives are all new 1.5TB units. Given the hassle to dismantle the case and fit the 2.5" drive now, I may not bother. Pete
  13. Hello all I have just completed a new unRAID server build using a mini-itx chenbro ES34069 NAS Chassis http://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=42#ES34069-180W and a Gigabyte GA-D525 Motherboard fitted with 2GB of DDR3 ram http://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=71 This motherboard has 4 onboard sata ports which have my parity and 3 data drives attached. It also has an onboard IDE connector, which currently has nothing attached to it. Do you think I would benefit in any way by adding a small cache drive to this port using a 2.5" laptop drive ? Say 80 to 100GB or would the performance gain not be worth it ? I have read of course that a cache drive should normally be the fastest drive in the system, naturally it would not in this case. I have a couple of IDE 2.5" 80GB drives lying around. Any thoughts would be welcomed. Regards Pete
