  4. has to be rj45, im aware the fiber solution is cheaper. the x540-t2 can get around 80-95usd in ebay. my motherboard is supermicro X9SCM-F.
  5. @limetechcan we have confirmation on this?
  6. before i order this NIC, can i confirm that it works with unraid? intel ethernet converged network adapter x540-t2 having said this, would it work with windows 7/10 too? if not my pc solution, i will use asus new nic 10gbe. what do you think, guys
  7. Hi, asus just released this, i would like to plug into my supermicro board, does unraid has driver to support it yet? http://www.tomshardware.com/news/asus-xg-c100c-10gbase-t-nic,34844.html
  8. a little off track, i did download the plex updated.plg , placed exactly where it should be, but i don't see the update icon. only plex server icon. is this normal?
  9. hi frank, back from work.. alright. after config the free space to 50GB on 'videos' folder and i sent 3 iso to blu-ray. the cache wrote first then I invoked mover to move now. Surprisingly it added blu-ray to disc 3 now. and is sending to disk 3 and not disk 1 anymore. I think the free space does screws up everything if is not set correctly. anyway, i will monitor first.. i'm going to send lots of iso over and see if it is working correctly..
  10. hi frank, that's right. is not following the rule as you mentioned it is set to high water. I'd still think it should write to other disk instead of targeting disk 1 only. regarding number 2, what do you mean? aren't those shared folders already? regarding number 3, the writes are intended heading to 'videos' share but due to disk full and obstinating to write to other disks.
  11. oh and yes, i use windows and windows explorer to transfer files. under network i go to my server and select videos, blu-ray and paste it over there. from the unraid side, the cache wakes up and write the files and flush at the specified time. so doing this step isn't it telling the cache to send it to blu-ray folder isn't it? just like without cache disk, i will be directly writing there. i could map it as network drive and specified blu-ray folder and it sees as combined capacity of the drives. so it shouldn't be writing on disk 1 if it knows disk 1 is full, isn't it. previously i set minimum free space 20GB. now i have changed it to 50GB. lets see will this work or not.
  12. i left them blank. necessary to do such step and specify what disk?
  13. most of the time my disks will be sleeping, so if i send files over, it sends to cache drive and at the specified time flush it over to the disks it can write. i understand what frank concern is but i will try to leave it to the system to control but it sort of turns out not to what i expected it to be. i do not want the files be split to two drives which cause stuttering which is not the case due to current split level. maybe i try set the minimum space to 50GB. See how it goes.
  14. Hi Rick, that gives me the control i know, but i set the export to no and the drives won't appear in the player/streamer too messy. Just share folders to be seen only. edit: oh ya, there is a option hidden option. maybe i could play with that.
  15. no more folder, after dvd folder would be seeing my files like iso videos - > dvd - > iso videos - > blu-ray - > iso videos - > assorted hd - > video file.mkv but why even after it fills up disk 1 and the mover still try to move it to disk 1? shouldn't it fills up disk 2, isn't it? and i have disk 4, unraid can expand it, but hasn't yet. if i can't solve this basic problem, don't think i can solve it when more disks coming in. :'(
