  1. You can sign into individual services just like any other OS as well. It needs to be fixed though.
  2. Doorunrun, the profile name was the first thing I checked... and it's the same (or remains unchanged). But there must be something buried further down. Harpz, I did circumvent the issue the same way - but: a) it certainly is not a solution b) it still didn't work 100% of the time You didn't have a problem on Win7 because you didn't/couldn't log in with a Microsoft account. Just go into settings and disconnect your MS account. I don't feel like I'm losing anything by doing that - and gain uninterrupted access to my NAS
  3. Yeah it's effectively Microsoft's iCloud. In terms of logging in with an MS account, it enables all your online services and syncs your PCs settings etc. So, logging in at work will look the same as logging in at home. Unfortunately, it borks the server connection. I'll see if there is something in the settings that it might be trying to sync that is killing it, and that I can perhaps turn off.
  4. Like my other thread/issue, it looks like this is "solved" but I'm not sure why. Disconnected my Microsoft account, worked perfectly. Reconnected the MS account - got the same "The parameter is incorrect" error. Disconnected the MS account, works perfectly. So, it's the MS account that is borking it. But... why?
  5. Looks like this is "solved" but I'm not sure why. Disconnected my Microsoft account, worked perfectly. Reconnected the MS account - couldn't restore connections. Disconnected the MS account, works perfectly. But... why?
  6. Looks like this might be a Windows 8 (8.1) issue. I've got another PC which is running Windows 7. Mapped a drive to a share on my server. Rebooted the machine. Mappings restored without any problem. I wonder if it IS related to using a Microsoft Account... More testing to be done...
  7. Looks like this might be a Windows 8 (8.1) issue. I just went out to the garage and tried running the same files I'm having an issue with on my main PC - from there. It's a Windows 7 machine. No problems at all.
  8. Hi. I've updated to 5.0.4 but I'm still getting the "The parameter is incorrect" message. Some files will execute, but most will not.
  9. I've updated to unRaid 5.0.4 but I'm still experiencing the same network dropout after reboot. Would it matter that I login to my machine with a Microsoft account and not a local account?
  10. It's been set to YES for the majority of the time. Just changed it to NO last night.
  11. dgaschk: Thanks for your suggestion. Yes, I have named the workgroups identically. (all caps - but I copy > pasted to make sure) DaleWilliams: The PC drops the connection regardless of whether LMB is set to YES or NO. According to the Configuration Tutorial, it suggests that leaving it as NO is fine, unless you have trouble browsing the shares. Apparently the latest version of unRaid is 5.0.4 (I was unaware), so I'll upgrade to that and hopefully it will resolve this issue as well. I'll confirm ASAP
  12. Hi doorunrun Thanks very much for your reply and suggestions. I'll upgrade to 5.0.4 and see what happens...
  13. Hi again. Part two of another issue is that my when I reboot my PC, I cannot access my server. Stopping and starting the array fixes it immediately, but I expect that the loss of connectivity shouldn't be happening. Has anyone experience this before, and can offer some advice please? I've must be using the wrong words to search the internet because I'm coming up blank. Windows 8.1 unRaid 5.0 on HP Proliant Microserver Thanks again for your time. syslog.zip
  14. Hi guys. Apologies in advance for my noobness. I've been 'running' my unRaid server for a couple of weeks now but I'm trying to work through some issues that are really kicking my arse. I'm new to linux. I'm new to unraid. I'm new to networking. The trifecta?! One of the problems I'm having, is that I cannot run exe files from the server (and possibly related, self-extracting zip files). I can download files to it successfully, but running them produces a Windows error: \\SERVER\path\fileI'mtryingtorun.exe The parameter is incorrect. I would love it if you were able to assist. As an aside, the other issue I'm having, is that when I reboot my PC, it stops seeing the server until I reboot the array. I also seem to have to have Local Master Browser set to YES in unRaid or it breaks the shares as well... I don't want to confuse the issue, but though it might be important to add in case they're related somehow. I'm running Windows 8.1 and unRaid 5.0 on an HP Proliant Microserver Cheers for reading, and please let me know if you need any more information. syslog.zip
