  1. You mean this? root@Tower:~# ls -lah /mnt/user total 32K drwxrwxrwx 1 nobody users 272 Feb 28 00:01 ./ drwxr-xr-x 9 root root 180 Feb 27 08:43 ../
  2. They all look the same (like below): drwxrwxrwx 1 nobody users 352 Dec 16 2018 appdata/ The one that I know is missbehaving: drwxrwxrwx 1 nobody users 25K Feb 27 23:58 documents/ Only date and size differs. (Oldest date was from 2012 so I guess I was correct in my 10+ years estimate.)
  3. This is all on a user share. I should maybe also clarify was maybe not totally clear in my first post. This is on a server that has been running for many years. 10+ maybe? Disks have been added/removed and unraid has been updated a few times in this period as well. Some of the files on the share has been there from day one and then files have been added on a regular basis. Now a large percentage of those files are no longer visible on my clients. Does not seem connected to creation date as I can see files that are both newer and older than missing files. Also not disk related as far as I can tell as I can see files from one disk and the same disk have files that do not show. The part about what happens when I try to add files/folders is in addition to the original problem and I figured it may or may not provide a clue. Copying a file that does not show to another share makes it visible to the clients on that share (only tried once). [edit] If nothing else is suggested I might try to create a new share and move all files to this share. Based on my test with copying a file to another share this might make them all visible but I'm a bit concerned about such a mass move (not sure I should be??).
  4. Normally, just a right click ->New Folder, both in the windows- and Ubuntu-client. So not from CLI but from the UI. I also tried mkdir on the server and out of two attempts "testfolder" and "testmap" the "testfolder" did show up on the windows client but not "testmap". Erased them and redid with exactly the same result.
  5. Update: I found a seven day old post on reddit about the same symptoms and for that person folders created from the client disappeared after creation (still present on server). I tested this and had the same problem. I can create a folder from my client and it shows up as it is created. Clicking into it and then leaving and it is gone. EDIT: Test as above was on Linux. On windows nothing happens on client side when creating a folder (or file) but they do end up, with default names, on server.
  6. Sure thing. Should have thought of that in the first place. Sorry about that. tower-diagnostics-20230227-1922.zip
  7. I'm a tad confused. I suddenly lost a large portion of the files on a share when trying to access them from a client. Tested on another client and seem to see the same subset of files there. However the files are still there. When opening the terminal window from the web interface I can see them with ls. When browsing through the unraid web interface I can also download them so they are not broken either. I just tested this on the one file. With this very vague description can anyone think of something I can try to fix this?
