  1. It turns out I just had to run the file permission script, and all is well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I created a few user shares, and I'm not sure how to move TBs of data between shares quickly. I found a way to move existing data between disks, but I don't know how that will help me. I included all my disks in the new share I created, but I can't see any of my old files. Weird.
  2. I have a pretty sweet ATX case from my Pentium II days. It holds about 9 3.5" drives, and 6 5.4" drive. It's about as tall as my dining table, and has pretty good air flow management IMO. I started looking for a board that will work well with unRaid, and I know I want onboard video/audio to save on power and costs. But the majority of the boards that I find at mATX. I did a bit of googling, and it looks like I can mount a mATX board in an ATX case. Is there an advantage to do so? You'd think I'll get more expansion slots with a bigger board. With that being said, could someone recommend me a board since I've been out of the hardware game for a long time. Preferably: - ATX - 6 SATA slots - on board video/audio - some PCI-e slots for other cards Thanks, Ming
  3. Pardon my ignorance, how do you get 24 HDs with six SATA ports? I was looking at a ASRock board as well, but I didn't really like the idea of only 5 SATA connectors
  4. ...well, that is a valid statement I heard so often when I did my research for my first build. Obviously, if you want easy access to the Stick, you'll have to keep it on the outside of the box. The smallest I could find is already discussed here. Another option of course is to put it INSIDE. Physical Access to the stick is not a priority 1 requirement, I'd think. If your MoBo has no Type-A slot, you could try and use one of these pictured below, which will convert a USB Pin-Header into two small Slot-A connectors. I really like how that adapter looks. Where do you get it from? I looked on new egg and everything I've found so far looks like a dongle.
