  1. Anyone has the same bad experience as BLKMGK? I wanted to use my Asus P5B-VM DO with the new 3TB HDDs but if it's necessary to change the mobo for a new and cheap one, what would you choose? My CPU is a Intel Celeron 430 1.80GHz FSB800 Box socket 775, must I change it too? Here is my unfinished unraid box: Box: Sharkoon Rebel 12 Val. Ed. Bl ATX CPU: Intel Celeron 430 1.80GHz FSB800 Box socket 775 Mobo: Asus P5B-VM DO Hard drive bays (non-hot swap): 2 x Cooler Master + 2 x Thermaltake iCage RAM: Kingston ValueRAM 1GBB DDR2 800 PC2-6400 x 2 Power Supply: Corsair TX650 650W - CMPSU-650TXEU Expasion Card: Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 + Adaptec 1430SA, 1430A - 4 Port SATA II - PCI-E Fans: the Case ones + Tacens Aura II 80x80 Drives: 14 x WD2003FYYS (But I want to expand to 20 x WD30EZRX green ones; the WD30EFRX red ones are more expensive and I'm not sure if they are better for my big unraid box) Thanks again in advance.
  2. Does the Asus P5B-VM DO support 3TB hdds? Anyone knows? Thanks in advance.
  3. Please, Joe, take a quick look of my last 2 precleared HDDs. Thanks in advance
  4. Here are the results of my last 2 Samsung HD204UI: preclear_finish_sdb_2011-05-15.txt preclear_finish_sdc_2011-05-15.txt preclear_rpt_sdb_2011-05-15.txt preclear_rpt_sdc_2011-05-15.txt
  5. They look good. I think 12 concurrent clear processes is a new record. It did keep the server plenty busy, so I'm sure it was a good burn-in test of the disks, disk controllers, and motherboard. I think the same. I was only worried about not to watch the Pre-clear screen again ("screen - r" didn't work; next time I'll name my screens to find them back in an easier way as the user secrectagent suggested me), but I received an email when each HDD had finishied and could save my results too.
  6. Well, after 86 hours the 12 HDDs are Pre-cleared. Here are the results attached in 3 files. 12_HDDs_Pre-Clear_results_-_Part_1.txt
  7. My tower has 2GB of Ram (in an Asus P5B-VM DO). The initial speed (in the Pre-clear reading was 65-75), and writing zeros nows it's 35.2 (67% Done & 1.4TB copied of 2TB). CPU Temp: 65ºC & the HDDs between 25-35ºC. I'll report the syslog EDIT: Now Post-Read in progress (7% - 52.5 MB/s - TIME 32:09:35). The CPU Temp is 67ºC and the HDDs between 24-32 ºC. EDIT 2: I get out from the telnet session and now I don't know how to get in to the Pre-clear screen again ("screen -r" does not work).
  8. Thanks again, Joe. I'm 4K pre-clearing x 12 HDDs at the same time right now. I'll report my Syslog in 2 days (more or less, I hope). If I have this week my proper MiniSas cables for the Supermicro, then I'll pre-clear all the 15 HDDs at the same time again.
  9. Thanks Joe. Maybe I'll make a second pre-clear cycle when I've finished the first in all the HDDs. I've not buy the Pro Unraid Key yet and I can only pre-clear 3 HDDs at the same time. How many HDDs is possible to pre-clear with the Pro Key?
  10. I'm running unRAID 4.7 and using preclear script v1.9. My Unraid server has 8 x Samsung HD203WI + 7 x Samsung HD204UI (upgraded to the new firm). I've precleared 3 HDDs (HD203WI) at the same time (only 1 cycle). I post here the results and I'll do the same with the first 3 x HD204UI ones this week (if the results in the rest of the HDDs are almost the same I'll know the precleared is well done). Maybe someone can tell me if the values are normal and 1 cycle is enought. preclear_results.txt
