  1. I do have kids, but if I recall correctly it turned out to be a bad hard drive? I think... either way its not rebooting continuously anymore
  2. Ahhh. Well that's pretty dumb why even have the menu options in there then? You hit delete, a pop-up comes up and says Do you really want to delete this? Yes - No.
  3. Thanks, I was eventually able to figure it out by reverse engineering it. I'll definitely have to setup a share to make access easier. I'm still not sure why it won't delete them right inside the HDhomerun software. Does anyone else have that problem? If not then its got to be a permission issue i'll have to dig out.
  4. I got that problem resolved....but where exactly does it store the recordings? Kodi won't seem to let me delete any of them. So i'm figuring its either a permissions issue, or a bug in the software. But I can't seem to find them on my server to manually delete.
  5. That was the first thing I did was upgrade unRAID. I never suspected a problem previously because anytime i clicked check for updates (admittedly not in a few months before this weekend) it said no updates. It didn't return any errors or anything, so i assumed I was just running the newest version. CA installed with no hitch now. I see my templates have updated too, so i'm on to try the DVR software next. Thanks again!
  6. So in my case, somehow my line for Gateway was blank... filled that in and it seems to work now (i changed the DNS to be safe as well). This makes a lot of sense now..... I really thought it had been awhile since they came out with an update for unRAID. I was on version 6.01
  7. Ahhh... you know now that you say that i was having issues accessing my Plex Server outside the house. I switched routers a couple months ago, and I never got the plex server accessible from the outside since. I did a search for the error in the CA thread, and was just reading about some suggestions. I'll give yours a try first. Thanks again for your patience.
  8. Then maybe don't install CA. It makes it too easy to find and install apps that you're going to keep playing with the server to find out what it can really do for you Ha! trust me i thought about that, but I figure what the hell right? I know there is loads more I can do with this thing, but mostly i just backup files and store/stream media from it. I am really curious to see how this DVR works out though. It sounds promising.
  9. I tried installing CA but I'm getting the following error.
  10. Awesome, I'll give it a shot and report back. Thanks for the help! Also, I don't have CA installed, so i'll do that first. Its been months since I've even logged into my tower since it's been running so well and I don't demand a lot from it. A credit to unRAID really...when I was running WHS I felt like i was messing with it every couple weeks because something crashed or it needed to be rebooted.
  11. Hmm i tried hitting enter twice after the line. I also had it check for updates, but no dice. I still don't see it listed. It's gotta be something I'm doing wrong since others in the thread got it to install. Just clicking on the link takes me to the tree and directory with the XML file.
  12. I'm trying to get the HDhomerun Docker installed using this repository: https://github.com/Yoshiofthewire/docker-templates/tree/master/urlxl Found in this thread: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=45719.15 However, regardless of whether I add that to my box of repositories, or make it my only one, or even have none listed... I get the same list of templates to choose from when I select Add Container. I've tried logging out, closing the window, disabling/re-enabling dockers, nothing seems to change it. I'm I running into a caching issue of some sort, or am I doing something wrong?
  13. I'm running into an issue with it not loading your repository. Even if i remove the existing respository I have in there, my templates available are exactly the same. It's almost like it's not refreshing the available templates. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get it to refresh the available templates? Or what i may be doing wrong? I've refreshed the page....logged out of the tower and logged back in. It's all still the same.
  14. Just a follow up. It never resolved itself, I ended up deleting the docker image, and plex library and starting completely from scratch. It seems to be working 100% normal now, it's been running for almost a week without me needing to stop and restart the plex app.
  15. I understand. Thank you for taking a minute to help though, I appreciate it
  16. Hmmm so the Author is "needo/plex:latest" which is what i remembered, but my repository is https://github.com/gfjardim/docker-containers/tree/templates Not sure if that matters or not... i think i did switch repositories when i installed crashplan (but never really followed through on and don't run anymore). Would that matter for updates to the docker after installation? EDIT: It appears you can install Plex from that repository. And in case you're asking about server version its currently Version 0.9.11.7 But i don't recall what I upgraded from previously. EDIT 2.0: Container Page: https://registry.hub.docker.com/u/needo/plex/
  17. So admittedly I didn't think this through very well and ended updating both unRAID (b15)and plex (what ever the docker update is) right after each other so I'm not sure which caused the problem... But ever since the update I'm finding if I don't use plex for a number of hours (say over night) I cannot use plex until I log into the web management for my tower, stop the docker and then start it back up. After that it'll work perfectly fine until it sits in active for a period of time again. When I do log into the tower ui, it says the plex docker is active and running (shows green circle). But if I try to access the plex ui from my pc (through the docker drop down or typing in the it'll). The plex ui doesn't respond and shows as a broken address till I stop and restart the docker I had been on unraid b12 and what ever previous version of plex docker for months with no issues. I didn't change any settings, actually I haven't even added any media recently. Nothing changed except the software updates. Beta 15 did require me to rebuild the docker image file, but it had all the config info saved and preloaded so I just had to accept and rebuild. Any advice or things I should try? Should I just delete the docker and rebuild from scratch?
  18. Well, everything seems to have gone smoothly. Thanks for the help!
  19. I chickened out and ordered a 2tb drive. I didn't quite need the space and I figure when I do, I can always replace the parity drive at that time. So with that said, all I have to do is shut the server down, replace the bad drive, and start the array and it'll handle the rest automatically?
  20. Alright thank you very much. I'll put some thought into it. I have the server shut down right now so nothing can be written to it until I do the replacement.
  21. So one of my drives appeared to die and I'm going to need to replace it. Before I even buy the new drive I want to understand what I'm walking into and what the implications of my choice are going to be. My setup: unraid 6 beta 12. Parity = 2tb (can't remember if you choose a file system for parity but if you do Its xfs) Drive 1 = 2tb in xfs Drive 2= 2tb in xfs Drive 3 = 2tb in xfs Cache = 128 ssd Drive two seems to have failed according to unraid. I was considering buying a 3tb drive to replace it. But I thought I read that the biggest drive in the array has to be your parity drive. So of that's true what is going to happen, and what are the implications to introducing a 3tb hdd to my array? Will it re-sort the drives and make the 3tb the new parity drive automatically for me? Or do I need to do it manually somehow? Is introducing a single 3tb a bigger headache then it's worth? Should I just get another 2tb and call it a day? The only reason I was thinking of going with a 3tb is because I thought I may just make all new drives from now on 3 or 4 tb since the price is continuing to drop. So while I'd only have one 3tb right now, when I add another drive for more space later I thought I'd go with a 3tb. Lastly is there a tutorial or thread on how to properly replace a bad hdd? Or is it really as straight forward as pulling the bad one out and pluging the new one into its spot? Thanks
  22. Alright, I do have a Kvm switch on it so that shouldn't be a problem. I shut it down till I have time to figure out if that hdd died or not. Thanks for the advice though, I'll post an update when I have one
  23. Well, right about 2 weeks and it happened again. Went to watch a movie and my server was offline, completely shut down. And to make things even better, my windows PC installed an update and rebooted itself, so I didn't have a log open. Even worse this time, after rebooting its showing one of my HDD's as not installed now....so that's great
  24. I use sync toy to backup specific folders to my external hdd. I keep the hdd attached to my pc though, so that may not work out for you. But o wanted to mention it in case it does!
  25. I have no idea to be honest. This is the third time I've walked in the room and the server has just been completely off. The power light and everything is off. Usually with a reboot the power light will stay on through the reboot
