Oddly when I put the original usb back in it connected to internet again......very odd as this last time I didn't change anything, but might be my router acting up as I am now having connection issues with other random devices. Thanks for all the help. Hopefully it keeps working. Now I just have to fix my plex docker as I broke it trying to troubleshoot this issue.

tried a fresh usb with brand new unraid install. that one can't connect to the internet either (no pings and registration page shows it can't connect so server). Now I really have no idea. Might be a router issue, but I can't see any issues there nor can I think what could possibly be the problem. Has anyone ever had a NIC that would connect locally, but not to the greater internet? Doesn't make any sense to me.

had tried setting dns previously with no luck. Renamed network.cfg (no rules file) and no change. can't ping google.com or 8.8.8.8. Can connect to the GUI just fine, but unraid can't see the internet. can ping local network machine no problem. Might try a fresh unraid install on a new stick (trial version) and see if that works, but does anyone else have any ideas?

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I can access the server gui just fine. The issue is the server can't access the internet, so no community app access, plex server can't connect to plex to login, can't download vertigo, etc.

Oh, router is a Netgear Orbi. Static address defined per the MAC address in the router software. Fast fiber internet and unraid server is hardwired. Never had any problems with network issues prior to changing to the new motherboard.

Transferred my disks and usb drive to a new machine (significant upgrade in hardware). Have had intermittent issues with network connectivity. Can always connect to GUI, but ability of server to see the internet seems to be variable. Plex docker was connecting 3 days ago, but I can't get it back now. Not sure what changed. I don't think I changed anything in any network settings or unraid settings. I have tried static as well as dhcp. I have tried defining DNS servers. I tried to add a route per some prior post, but didn't seem to be able to get that to take. I have downgraded to the prior release. I am largely out of ideas now. Diagnostic file attached. Thank you, I guess I might have read that it was depreciated, but I don't have the vaguest idea what that means....new to unraid and linux. Unassigned Devices and putty seems to be working great....should help get through this setup mutch faster.

New unraid 6 server, so far just one drive installed.....need to copy data off of spare HD's and then install them in the array (will re-format first as xfs to try to make the array as clean as possible). I tried to load SNAP through the plugins tab, and it seemed to install fine, but external USB hd's aren't recognized and I don't see any settings or controls for snap to play with...it does show up in the installed plugin's tab, but that is it. Does SNAP still work with V6 and if so, are there any tricks I am missing. Alternatively, are there any docker apps that will allow this or other ways of copying the data over other than through the network (I only have 100mb ethernet, so it is rather slow). Thanks, Gram

I think that was just a typo...sorry...I tried attaching a screenshot, but couldn't get it small enough.... I think I have sorted it out to a player problem. If I shut off experimental player and direct stream options in advanced settings of the player, it seems to work fine. Not an unraid problem....just a plex/laptop problem. Thanks for the help anyway.

New to unraid. Ran a test machine last week with unraid 5 and had plex working fine on this same hardware. Started with a fresh V6 install, reformatted drive. So far just have 1 drive (3TB) hooked up and still on trial version. Drive formatted XFS. Shares work fine....just have a little data loaded so far (testing before I transfer data over from spare HD's and load them into the box. Installed Plex via docker -- gave it 10GB image (default). Created share dir "Plex data" to house library and transcode files Following paths: /video /mnt/user/video/ /config /mnt/user/plex data/ /transcode /mnt/user/plex data/transcode/ /photos /mnt/user/photos In plex I created libraries from /videos folder which worked fine and in settings defined transcode folder at /transcode folder defined above Library works fine and thumbnails and data are saved in the "plex data" folder. One laptop will play the videos fine, but my main machine (hooked up to TV) won't play any videos -- just get and endless spinning circle. Not sure if this is a server problem or a client problem Any ideas what I am doing wrong.
