  1. yes, If thats set up wrong then please let me know the best way to set it up. Thanks in advance. Scott
  2. Attached as requested, I've no Idea if I've done it correctly
  3. After I run the mysql -uroot -p command, I get this message "Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2 "No such file or directory")"
  4. I tried heidisql it has the same issue. its as if the db server doesnt exist Im stuck on what to do.
  5. Hostname: 192.168.1.105 = Ip address of unraid server port 3306 Username: root Password: (i've specified a password and typed it in) Connection method standard tcp/ip When trying to connect, it appears as if it cant find the server. In terms of system logs, where do I get them from?
  6. I'm hoping you can help as I'm about through the laptop out of the window. I've been trying for ages to set up the mariadb docker and eventually the kodi docker. I've both up and running however I cant connect to the the database at all. I've installed mysql workbench and tried connecting to the server but connection is always refused. I've found this whole process exceptionally frustrating and am hoping you guys can help please. Kind regards Scott
  7. Yes and its got me this far. Following the guide is stating that I need to map the contain path to the shares I've created but how do I then point the instance of Kodi at them? how do I get that instance of Kodi to use the db install? I believe that I've set up the root directory of the docker to be the root directory on the cache drive. Subsequently I realise I should have laid out the folder structure differently but I got confused with all of the shares that have been set up and what is best for dockers. That's why I'll probably scrub the current docker config for Koma and try again after work. I was only checking best practice so that I dont have to do it again.
  8. I'm hoping the unraid community can help me as I'm having a torrid time trying to set dockers up on my unraid server. I'd like to get Koma -isengard running. I think I finally managed to get the docker running on my server last night but I might just clean it down and start again tonight as I think I've just put it in the root of /mnt/cache. What I'm struggling with is a finding a decent step by step process of getting this docker up and running most of the guides and manuals all relate to older verisons of unraid using plugins. I'm running the latest version of unraid having upgraded last night. The issues I'm having are: [*]When setting up the Koma docker, what is best practice for the folder location for the docker? [*]Am I right in thinking that I need to map the unraid shares ive made to movies etc to the container so that kodi will be able to see them? [*]Once i've started this docker what am I supposed to do next? Any help would be most appreciated as I'm all new to unraid and Kodi. My ultimate goal is to get Kodi on my Chromebox to be viewing the library on my unraid box then get sickbeard and couchpotato up and running although now i'm reading that SABnzbd is better. Confused.com for me.... Thanks in advance.
  9. Please forgive me as this is my first post and foray into unraid that and the post may also need to be added to the Kodi Forum. I'll explain the setup that I want to achieve and hopefully I can get some advise on the best way to achieve it. I'm setting up an unraid server to store our media libraries and important files the family require for education / company business. Unraid is running headless under the stairs with a powerline adapter. For media playback, in the main family room, we've going to have a chromebox running openelec and Kodi. The adults bedroom will have a raspberry pi2, open elec and Kodi. I have three children aged 14, 9 & 7. Each of them will run Kodi on either a tablet or laptop in their own rooms. I would like the family room instance and the adult bedroom instance of Kodi be linked so that I can pause downstairs, got to bed and continue watching. I would like each of the children to have a different account so that they are limited to only the films / files their account has access to. So for the younger two that would mean they could only watch films or tv series that we approve. For the teenager, she will need to be able to add and remove files for her network share but again only view films etc that we allow. I'm also interested in using sickbeard etc as dockers but have never used or played with them and or usenet groups before but am happy to try. I'm also not afraid of some advanced configuration options, as I work in IT albeit predominately on windows based systems. Your help and advice would be greatly appreciated and if I have posted in the wrong forum then I apologize.
